Day 1 of a planned 3 days of eating
Blood sugar 103 mg/dL

My goal over the next three days is to not get over 177 pounds.

My “real” goal is to not EVER hit 180 pounds. I need a bit of ’cushion’ for this goal, because I can gain weight, even after I start my normal ‘no solid food’ fast, on Tuesday (I did that last week).

So I am ‘motivated’ to ‘not go crazy’ this weekend. I plan to eat, but, sitting on the couch eating truffles all day (at 200-300 carbs a day), makes my blood sugar skyrocket and stay there for nearly a week. During this time I pack on 2-3 pounds a day. I have repeated this pattern every single three day weekend since September.

My plan this weekend:

🥛 Keep my carbs under 100 each day
🏃🏾 Run 7 miles a day
🏋🏾 “lift heavy” at the gym each day

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!
172.0 lb Lost so far: 35.0 lb.    Still to go: 8.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

💪💪💪👍👍👍 You know what you do and understand how to plan. I learned a lot from you and started planning weekly. This helps a lot. It is important to keep carb 100 g less, and keep your calories as much as you make an effort, is that true?

@Nadeen 31 - Thanks! - The reason I am only thinking about the 'carbs' this weekend, is that looking back on my data, I-gain-weight-on-200-carbs-a-day. Not 1 pound, but 2-3 pounds. Now, I SHOULD just keep it under 20 carbs and I would be good!, But, I achieve that during the week, when I only drink "protein shakes". On the weekends I want-to-eat-solid-food :) My past experience has shown I can't keep it to only 20 carbs a day when I am 'eating solid food' 😣 Once I start 'eating' I "crave" 'more' carbs and... So, trying to limit myself to 100 carbs seems a 'reasonable goal', but, it will still be a 'challenge' (sigh). Anyway, good luck to you this weekend!

Maybe you need to sneak in a new activity to get your mind off food. Go in o a new direction. Maybe a movie, maybe a new hobby

Wasn't finished yet. Maybe volunteer for a needy cause.

@Fishingwidow - Yes, I plan to stay busy this weekend. I have some 'community projects' planned today, but, when doing them is when I tend to eat :(. Another advantage of 'exercise', is that I can't eat and exercise at the same time :) So, if I spend 4 hours today getting my weight lifting and running in, that is 4 hours of not eating :)

Weekends were a problem for me then I got them under control. Now they are creeping back. Eternal vigilance gets tiring. Good luck with it adef! Good work figuring out a plan!

just checking? You know your blood sugar is in the prediabetic range

Enjoy working your plan!!!

@celston - (sigh) Yeah. T2 Diabetes throughout the family. Did the research, came to the conclusion that I either 'cut the carbs' or get on the 'insulin train' (where you end up taking higher and higher doses of Insulin or Metformin). If I keep my carbs low I'm fine, but when I 'spike my blood sugar' it goes high and stays there-for-days. When I get checked up by the doctor, I check out fine because I don't go there in a 'spiked out state' :) There are a lot of people like me. I wish they would check their blood sugar (only takes a $35 meter from Amazon.com). Then they would stop listening to people who say that 'carbs are not a problem'. For people like me, you-will-F**king-die-an-early-debilitated-death! Good luck with your weight loss when your fasting blood sugar is spiked out at 110+... Anyway, I can only do the best to take care of my *own* body. I hope to have a lower reading tomorrow if I keep the carbs below 100 today...

@keyten77 - The only reason I feel I 'have an issue' is that once I get into the 105mg/dL range I stay there for days. Last week I 'carbed up' for three days and hit 108mg/dL, then started *fasting* and went UP to 111mg/dL then 112mg/dL then 104mg/dL before finally dropping down to a normal 98mg/dL. I just don't think that is 'normal' :) But, you're right my doctor wont diagnose me at T2 at my current leevls. However, I feel that if I 'carbed up' for several weeks, I would start hitting 120mg/dL fasting levels (and I would be back to being obese).

@Keyten77, interesting tip on "Diabetes:M."

@keyten77 - That is a great app. The irony is that they probably buy their food database from the company that owns FatSecret (I think that is how FatSecret really makes their money)
