Day 3 of a planned 3 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting
Blood sugar 92 mg/dL

Yesterday I 🏋🏾 hit the weights hard at the gym. Now, I was only there for 30 minutes, but, I did my squats and deadlifts (these are the lifts I really care about), shrugs, hammer crunch, machine bench press, ect. I did this mostly fasted as I only allowed myself only three scoops of protein powder in heavy cream during the day.

The key was I pushed myself to do my normal 200 pound squats and deadlifts. This really pushed my body and I was sweating hard. I then woke up to a 2 pound loss 😊

Long fasting periods are 'mentally tiring'. This is why you see me always eating on the weekends and any special event. 'Not Quitting' is my #1 goal. For the past 9 months this has worked for me.

Therefore, I plan to eat tonight (to break the three day fast), and I will try to only eat once on Saturday night. On Sunday, Superbowl Party day, I will feast like the world is ending! If I can maintain my current weight, I can take a 4 pound hit on Sunday and still start the week, on Monday, down 2 net pounds over the previous week.

This morning I plan to do a 🏃🏾 run because we have a break in the 🌧 rain.

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

@Keilin_4 - Yeah, the "plan" is already going "awry". I was not suppose to be 168 pounds until Sunday morning. Now, I have to try to not GAIN weight before Sunday morning. So, the "new plan" is to try to continue losing weight until Sunday morning...

Perhaps, with OMAD you have the results you want

@Keilin_4 - Thanks, I hope so too! My problem in the past is that I can do 2k in calories and 200+ carbs in a single "OMAD" meal. For my body, that will prevent 'weight loss' haha

Some research coming out now indicating that fasting can improve metabolism. So that is encouraging for us fasters.

This plan sounds like it is working. I find it very interesting how psychologically demanding fasting and low carb can be. Not everyone has what it takes to commit to it. I personally enjoy learning as much about nutrition and exercise as I formulate my own action plan. The fasting combined with low carb (Keto) eating is now 9 months in the making and I have never been this satisfied with my health before now. I'm working on a gym routine now but I want to document my progress well. What do you use for blood glucose measurements?

@vlhiii - I use CareTouch CT-210 Glucose Meter

@liv001, @jenjabba - I have been 'water fasting' the first two days of my normal 5 day fast. Way better results, but, still a 'mental effort' that I don't plan to do every week. On my 'no solid food' fast days I am basically doing #Keto

Ohh why did miss that? Sorry, putting on glasses. I did a 5 days fast and only lost 2 pounds and gained is all back. I'll stay clear of fasting for now. I do daily fast. I'll leave the longer term fasting to you for now 😁
