Lizzie983's Journal, 25 October 2012

Had the gastroscopy early this morning. It lasted just few minutes, that's the good side of it. It seems I don't have celiac decease, that's a real surprise. Anyway, it seems there is some problem with my liver and spleen and I might get diabetes in the future. So, the physician suggested me to stay lean, avoid alcohol, have an healthy lifestyle.
It's not too bad, all in all.
I still feel my stomach is upside down, had very little food today (only a cup of white rice and some chicken). During the gastroscopy itself I felt like I were the kid in "The exorcist" movie. It has been quite disgusting, but much better than being in a MRI for one hour...

Today I thankful for:
-support from a good friend here
-having a better relationship with my dad, step by step
-being aware of the risks in advance (diabetes, breast cancer)

glad to hear it is not celiac!! Hope you find relief from eating cleaner. i have to go in for a gastroscopy it is being scheduled now - I have no idea what to expect - not sure what they are looking for - what kinds of things can they tell from the scope?

Here they give you a local anesthesy for your throath, then you have to swallow a small tube with a camera inside. That's the only horrible moment. Then you may throw up some liquid, but that's it. It lasts only few minutes. I was way more scared than I needed to. Don't worry! From the gastroscopy they can check whether you have ulcer, celiac and a lot of other digestion issues. I also had an ultrasound, and that allowed to see the liver and spleen and all the other good friends involved with food :)
