Woohoo! With this massive cold I ran 3 miles and actually feel better... go figure. I can't wait till I move to get my gym set for house. I told dh I am going to join the Y until we move. I NEED WEIGHTS! I use to be a bodybuilder back in the day, early nineties mid nineties. I try to compete twice but the first time a week before competition I injured my back squatting 315lbs. Yes little me was strong. The second time the week before I ended up with a cyst that hemorraged and appendix needing to be removed so I gave up and didn't try to compete anymore.

I wasn't huge like a guy, its impossible for women to get like that with out steroids. I was natural and I had the muscle were I could compete in light weight bodybuilding or just do fitness competitions. You know I actually stop training because at that time people stared and made comments some good some mean. At that time it was weird to see a women toned let alone with muscles. Some people liked it some didn't. I had that lifestyle for about 10 yrs. I was stupid for letting that lifestyle go because of what people thought of me. I want to get back into and eventually compete, but fitness competitions only...lol.

I might have to do something with my tummy, cause seriously I have skin and wrinkles, not pretty...lol. But I'm determine to get back into it. I told dh and he was actually thrilled. So I begin my new journey, lose these last few lbs and tone and sculpt these muscles I have...muscle memory...its been a while but your body doesn't forget.

I'm so excited!!!!!!

That is awesome! Do you have any pictures? I have come to really admire women who bodybuild and I've seen the light- women who strength train have the best bodies. You are so right about women not getting huge without steroids. It's too bad more women don't get it. Isn't it interesting how tastes in bodies change? When I was a teenager, it was all the "Glamazon" models like Cindy Crawford. Now everyone is just SUPER skinny. I prefer looking at fitness magazines to fashion these days because the women look strong and healthy like I want to look.

Thanks Kate! Yes I do in storage...I plan on going sometime this week to see if I find them for motivation.....lol. I've always loved fitness magazines. The one I like is oxygen and muscle fitness hers both worth the money.

that's so cool! i kind of want to have a stronger build that I did when I was skinny...I like powerful arms and I want to be able to do chin lifts on the monkey bars at the park. It's way amateur compared to what you're doing, but I want to feel strong too, not just look skinny. Good job to you woman!
