Brand new here. Sure hope it helps. Weighed in at 228! this morning, kind of think a lot of that has to do with not taking my Lasix for a couple of days. Disgusted with myself, as I find that I am eating two english muffins, just saturated in margarine as I make my first visit here. I have no idea what diet to follow. I always had immediate success on a strict Atkins diet (i.e. little to NO carbs). Carbs are my downfall. I think if I were to start off on Atkins, to give myself the immediate gratification, I might be able to switch to the more healthy version of the diet, or maybe to South Beach, which I am not totally familiar with. So much self-hatred in all this. Dammit, now I'm gonna cry. I need to stop this, and just get going!

Don't be hard on yourself, we have all been in your position. Just coming here is a start. Having the support of others to help you reach your goal will help tremendously. Carbs are a downfall for many..I love them too. The best thing to do is to read up on different plans that are out there. The one underlining theme that I found was portion control! Really it is true, you can eat what ever you want--just in small portions. I eat every 3 hrs, this helps speed up metabolism and that is what we all want!
