Good morning, Fatsecret!

Today, let's count on STUPID ME not turning off the power to my PC in the middle of writing my journal. Please cross your fingers and wish me luck on this. :)

I'm down a whopping two kilos since yesterdays strangely high weigh-in. I don't know what happened. I have been doing okay the last many days. I have not counted calories for days (but started up again yesterday for more focus) but stayed away from the processed sugars.

It feels good to do right. My weigh-in of 88.4 kgs today is still WAY too high for my comfort, but I think it'll change soon.

Yesterday, I had my 3rd time teaching weight loss class. Two students were no-shows, they wrote to me and were out sick (a lot of people are sick here these days), but the remaining 9 lost a total of 8.8 kgs - almost a kilo each. Not bad. This is still considering that one hasn't gotten started. I had a little talk with her about it, and she really wants to, she just doesn't get around to it. Sounds familiar. :) Anyways, she'll take a look at it again, get signed up and get going. She's seeing the results of everyone else, and I think it motivates her seeing their success.

The class have now lost a total of 28.4 kgs. Not bad at all for two weeks. I gotta say I'm deeply impressed.

The students have signed up for a three months run, then I do a winter break through December (who joins a weight-loss program in December anyways? LOL), and start again in January.

Several of my students are already talking about setting a goal for COMING BACK next year, meaning that they'll sign up again.

This kind of changes the game a little for me. If there are both newcomers and "seniors" in my class next time around, what do I teach? Do I simply start over, as planned, or do I need to do a continuance?

Personally, I favor starting over. There WILL be new people in the class, and they need the introductions and help getting started. They need the tips and tricks. The repeat customers of course have all this, but I think it's a good idea with a refreshment now and then. Hopefully that will also keep things simple and easy to do.

One of my main points in class is that it's SIMPLE and EASY to lose weight. I want to keep it that way. I think that the "difficult" stuff, like the deeper science of things should come when they keep looking onwards, if they are interested. If they are NOT interested in the deeper science of things, then my systems and tips still work.

Yesterday, they spent a lot of time on the website ( - the Danish equivalent to Fatsecret) and showed each other what they have learned. It was really cool to see, because they were really into sharing the info. I think the new excitement of finding a new tool is much better shared by them than by me. I basically sat down for 30 minutes and let them run the show, with me just ensuring that nothing "really wrong" was put on the table. They did great.

My "teachings", the new stuff that I brought, was the little Paul McKenna tapping video, and everyone had a laugh doing this for the first time. It was a blast. It's oh, so wonderful watching 10 people tapping away for the first time, everyone being SUPER self-conscious about what they're doing. :)

I have put myself in my class too, by the way. I have a binder with all the facts and info on my students, including the weigh-ins. I have made a sheet for me. I figure that I might as well benefit from the weekly commitment too. It works for them, it'll help me along too.

I have been very open with them that I need to drop a few kilos, and they're good at asking me how I'm doing. So my weigh-in will be done there too.

The scale I have at the school is a bit off though. It gives us a much higher number than any of our scales, and that's bad. But we've basically agreed that it doesn't matter - it's the DIFFERENCE from week to week that counts. When I weighed in on the scale yesterday, I had 90 kgs at home and 98 at the school. WOW. lol. Scary.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- A super fun class yesterday
- Two full kilos off my weight this morning.
- Morning Coffee!

Nice Keld, glad your class went well. I bet the tapping lessons got some strange looks and lots of laughter. Be careful with that scale, sometimes when scales are that far off, they also lose accuracy and reliability.

They were TONS of fun! Oh, and JP - I hear you on the scale! It's what I got to work with there. I have considered bringing mine, but I walk there and it's kind of a hassle to keep taking it with me. It'll have to be brought to work first, then on to class, then home.

Maybe buy a cheaper digital scale that could be locked up at school? what a great service you are doing by motivating others to health! Rockstar...

I might ask for a scale upgrade for next season. This time, we're already settled on the numbers on the scale, and what really matters is the difference. It seems (so far) to have the same difference from mine every week. :)

I have the problem with scale differences at the doctor. It's always a lot higher than at home... Then again I don't have clothes on when I weigh myself at home. I don't think they would like it if I just stripped to my birthday suit before getting on the scale at the doctors office ;)

The real change in weight when wearing close are atributable to shoes and heavy jewelry. If you take off your shoes, belt and jewlelry, it should reflect (within a pound) your true weight at the doc's office.
