Day 3 of a planned 3 day BULK
Blood sugar 111 mg/dL

Yikes! I can gain weight quickly...

The good news is that I was able to get my 🏋🏾‍♂️weightlifting back to 200lbs. I needed to consume a high level of carbs to do this, and the bulk I want to add required me to … well.. add more 'bulk' to my body.

But, now I am back-on-the-diet… starting tomorrow. Today I have the day off and trying to diet on a vacation day is futile for me. Just-gonna-have-to-take-the-hit (sigh).

However, I also plan to do a 7 mile run. This should hopefully keep me from gaining too much weight today...

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

isn't that the point of a bulk though?? you want to gain weight. If you didn't, you would not continue to eat so many carbs after your workout. It is a hard concept to accept as you hate to gain weight. all you can do is try this something different for your program and see how it fits.

You have to act right! If you don't act right, I don't act right...I can't believe we ordered caramel apple pie from Uber Eats last night, shame on us :(

@baskington - Yes, the only "problem" is 'mental' :)

@Baskington - Have you noticed my FASTED blood glucose readings? I have plenty of data for months showing my 'normal' fasted reading is in the 80s. For the past few days I am in the 100s and now above 110! Nothing good for me has ever come from high fasted glucose levels...

@adef - Glad to hear the adjustment helped you get back to the lifting weight you wanted. 👍 @princessvalerie - that's the way to be pampered. You two are so cute together. 😊

yes I saw it and yes I agree with you on that high glucose reading is not good. That is why I question you ever eating more carbs then you really have to for your weight lifting energy. eating regular low carb the day before to get healthy calories and having just the orange juice for the quick energy burst before the workout is probably all you needed. Only you can decide how you can best do your bulking stage. I cringed when I saw what you ate and kept my mouth shut on that topic. I just figured you wanted to take a break from your continued low carb like people do from time to time. I did really like your original idea of OMAD low carb and getting your orange juice boost Chris suggested, he said the mcdonalds sandwich would take too long to be useable for the immediate workout.

Not shame, this is our new lifestyle right? we are not always going to eat the perfect meal with perfect macros or perfect portions. As long as we don't eat too much all the time we will be fine. Plus if we are lifting weights we suppose to gain muscle, right? 🤔 Adefwebserver, you gained a lot of muscle when you started bulking, last time. We all noticed that 💪💪

Yep - it's always SO easy to gain and SO hard to lose! Glad you weights are back to where you want them!

Wow above 110? What do you think is causing your bs to stay elevated? I think Jenjabba was having that problem too.

Uh oh! Don’t sabotage PrincessValerie! You have to learn to behave for her sake!

@CrashtestDawnie - ME? Haha SHE is the one who went online and ordered the Denny's apple crisps on GrubHub :) ;)

@CrashtestDawnie - I think eating frosted Cheerios right before bed is what is causing the elevated morning fasting glucose levels... I only do that on eating days...

@baskington, @nikeit, @Keilin_4 - Let's see if I can maintain my 200lbs weightlifting on Tuesday. I do not plan to 'carb up' (I'm over 'carbing up' for the time being....)

I do think chris suggestion of the orange juice is a good one for when you want to try getting some quick carbs before the workout.

Ahh that would probably explain the spike.
