My heart goes out to you. The scale did that to me last week on my fast. I need more patience and gratitude...

IMO, just do once-a-week weigh-ins, not daily, so “normal “ fluctuations aren’t noted and dragging you down.

Time to go pee!!

I weigh daily because I need to see the fluctuations to try to fine tune my diet and electrolites and exercise. I'll look back and think maybe I had to many electrolytes yesterday, or maybe I need to pee LOL . If I weigh once a week, no telling if one week from now I'll be up 5 and haven't been able to correct something that I might have needed to adjust for my stubborn body.

@jenjabba -I am the same way. I need as much 'data' as possible. I can remove the 'fluctuations' when I 'crunch' the numbers.

Ade yup, . Patience and fine tuning. 👌 this 2 pound water defiantly surprised me. I'm not eating enough to not be losing and my ketone strips are dark purple even when well hydrated. I don't have a meter or breath meter yet. One day at a time with our experiments. Today is going to be a higher calorie day. I expected it since I'm hungry. Let's see what tomorrow brings us.

I read an article recently that doing daily weigh-ins, then taking the average for the week will get a better estimate of your actual gains and losses. I'm weighing myself daily, but not recording it here, yet anyway, just to see how that works. I think whatever gives you motivation do it. :) You'll lose that 2 pounds quickly I'm sure.

gosh I don't know what to tell you but to look back at the day or 2 days before your weight losses and then compare foods and percentages to the weight gain days. I know when I don't drink enough water and have bad things I gain. When I cut them out I lose. coffee interfers in the mess for me besides giving me brain fog. I don't see that in your plan. It is so frustrating I know you were doing so good for a couple days.

Have you gone to the bathroom? Sounds funny but that will definitely add some weight if you aren’t going regularly.

when you are eating carnivore there is very little to expel unlike keto. I don't know if you are interested in this but this is a very very long thread on Bear helping people with the carnivore diet about 12 years ago. while he did not have our issues, many people posting did. You may pick up some insight. I think you know who bear is. It is a closed thread and it has taken me 3 days to get through the first 110 pages, I think I am getting close to the end. http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=287013&page=1&pp=15

Mars2kids I only use daily as daily info on how my body is responding to foods health wise. I look at monthly losses as how I've done with weight loss, you really can't tell that much over a week.

Baskington, thanks I'll look at that link tomorrow. I'm doing great in carnivore actually, I think my body is still getting use to the hormones and is just slow to keto adapt. I'll take a hard assessment at the end of October.
