jengetfit123's Journal, 16 September 2018

Happy Sunday, fs! I hope everyone is safe. Roommate and i went out canvassing with cards for his business (he is doing home exterior washing) and it was fun but miserable hot!

I haven't posted much this week. I definitely feel like i am in a slump. I haven't worked out in a week, and i think it is the longest i have gone since i tore up my quad in January. Kinda worrisome bc i haven't missed it, even helga! 😕 I am getting used to being lazy again, which is not good.

I am going for student massage at the school down the block in a couple of hours. I am nervous. Have never had one before bc of the expense and also i am very ticklish and don't like to be touched. My 110# of excess pounds never helped either. But i hope they can help with my tush.

I am going to Chicago at the end of the week for a week, and i expect to do some eating. I had hoped to double up on the exercise this week and after i get back to try to make it up, but i am not sure.

I know this is a long-term commitment, and even a bad month is to be expected from time to time, because life happens. I just need to keep doing the best i can every day.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! Stay dry.

You have been doing a great job on your journey. Some times we all get in a rut. I did see that you have shed a few pounds in your previous post. Congrats! Keep it up. Don't get discouraged. Have fun in Chicago.

I am right with you on the slump - it is SO EASY to stop exercising and SO HARD to start again - and if you are hurting it is even harder - maybe after you heal up you will want to get back to it - hang in there and just take it one hour at a time - sometimes moods can really change in a short time - wishing you the best!

I hear you! Very slippery slope and I’m clinging to the edge! Have a wonderful trip - try to enjoy some dining and don’t be too hard on yourself.

enjoy the massage. I always lose a pound the day after. I think they help push fluid out of your tissues. I had to budget for them and realized two trips to the thrift store and not buying ice cream every month paid for my massages. enjoy!

When it's time, you'll get back to it. I have been the same way. Trying to get back on track and not get down on myself. Like you said, it's a lifetime deal and some down time is expected. 😊

Ty so much for your comments and encouragement, everyone! I appreciate it so much. I have historically quit when the going gets tough. I am trying to learn to embrace failure and cultivate grit. I think working out is helping me understand that everything is not all or nothing. I will post separately about the massage, but i am going to start going regularly!

Getting that massage is self-care, even though you say it's not something you are completely comfortable with. So, doing this is a step to getting back on track, which is a good thing and an accomplishment. 👍
