Click on the name above a comment and there should be a big green Follow button.  

Click on someone's username, then you'll be taken to their "page". There it should be a big button saying "follow" (click it to follow). 

Me and my son want to follow each other. But we don't know how to find each other's username to click on it  

On the home page of the app, put the setting to "Everyone" (so your feed will show everyone's post), then either have your son make a post, so you can click on his username, or your son can put his setting to "Everyone" and scoll until he finds your post, and from there click on your usename to follow you (as soon as someone follows you, you'll get a notification, and you can follow them back). Good luck! 

If you guys can access it from the web (not the app) you can easily find your own userpage (it's got it's own URL), and share those with eachother to follow. :)
