billylen's Journal, 10 August 2018

So I have really been getting into this site. I have used it in the past simply as a mean to record my caloric intake and weight. It works... This time I am doing all of that but have paid more attention to what others are doing (inspiration). I mean not only those who are posting these incredible losses, but those fantastic dishes too (imagination!) I also can relate to those with struggles (also inspiration!) Seriously, eating out of boredom (check), eating because of emotional distress (double check), eating cause of celebrating (triple check!!!)

I guess the one thing I hope to incorporate soon is more physical activity. My schedule is hectic, so I leave my office and walk about a mile each day, but I seek to do more!

This morning I calculated my BMR and determined for my activity level the caloric intake should be about 2500. Now I have established a limit of 3000 but average about 1500 per day. I know, I know there are many approaches out there (keto, vegan etc.) but I have been focusing solely on intake.

Sunday is my day to go HOG WILD! But you know what, the hog is not that interested. I even went to Vegas a couple of weeks ago. Yes I went to a buffet (love buffets) but I wasn't that into it. Sure I tried this and that but the plate had a slight bump not an entire mound that required a crane to lift to the table.

I'm not getting to full of myself. Weight gain and loss will happen, but I find that writing my thoughts...either here or a private journal helps to ensure that the truth is coming out...not the BS justifications.

In a couple of weeks I am going on a two-week cruise. Will I have too much of this or that...hmmmm probably, but it will be a conscious decision to enjoy. However, to enjoy does not mean to engorge myself. I equate it with my taste for spicy food. I LOVE spicy food but, too much spice detracts from the character of the food itself. Same is true with quantity...there is truth in the fact that you can have too much of a good thing...

OK, guess my diarrhea of the fingertips has been satisfied for today. All the best everyone!
