Shari, try upping your calories a bit. According to Atkins when we don't eat enough, our bodies go into starvation mode, and as crazy as it sounds upping your calories by adding some olive oil, butter, real mayo will actually kick the weigh loss back into gear. You are losing a nice amount of weight per month. I am also menopausal and I do know that it has taken me longer this time to lose the weight, than last time. I also did read in the last book that Dr. Atkin's actually wrote, that yo yo dieting (no matter which diet you use), does tend to make it harder each time, as it messes with our metabolism. I think you are doing fantastic, and although you have hit a mini-stall, things will pick back up. Increasing your fat intake will up your calories, and should help break the stall. Hope this helps. Also don't forget to drink plenty of water, and try to avoid artificial sweetners.

You may also need to increase your carbs...they seem pretty low. Are you counting total carbs or net carbs?

Shair, regardless if you are counting total carbs or net carbs I think you would benefit from increasing your calories. Aim for maintaining 1700 calories a day consistently for a week or two and see if this will help jump start more loss.

That's what we are here for, Shari. And we have all been through the low calories and fat problem. It seems like an oxymoron, eat more to lose weight, but it really does work! Good luck, and happy Atkinsing!!

AND IM COUNTING JUST CARBS

One other thing I noticed Shari is that you probably need to eat more veggies. Add another serving of green beans, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, something like that to your daily menu. It will help up the carb count, and ideally you need to have at lest 2 cups of lettuce and another cup of other veggies. That might help also. :)
