Kimbie86's Journal, 24 July 2018

I got my results back from my blood test. I missed my "friend" for 3 1/2 months. My doctor thinks I have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). My testosterone level was 108 and the normal range is 8 to 40 something. Hope the medicine she prescribed helps level everything out. Weight gain and difficulty losing is a symptom. Yay... Plus I'll be at a higher risk for diabetes. It already runs in the family. And my cholesterol was slightly elevated.
195.8 lb Lost so far: 12.4 lb.    Still to go: 45.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Both my daughter and have PCOS. Birth control works for her plus ibuprofen a week helps her alot. I lost weight on the keto diet and stopped taking metformin. I hope everything works out for you.

Have struggled with PCOS and weight my entire adult life. 5'11" SW: 278.8+ CW:235- in under 10 weeks. Dad diabetic, lost a foot- diabetic amputation. I decided sugar had to go, did research and found keto. They call it a diet. But it is a new way of thinking about food. It is life changing. Good luck whatever you do!

Thanks for the encouragement and for sharing some of your experiences with me! I've always struggled with weight loss so I wonder if this is why.
