Lift Day Fail

Broke fast early at noon. Homemade breakfast sandwiches and cereal. Totally off plan. Snacking on cereal all day. And other shit. Got to the gym late and forgot they close early tonight, so no light and refeeding on a rest day. Proceeded to Wendy's, 7 Eleven, and pizza, in that order. Feels like I covered all the bases... Except ice cream... Fcuk!

~4400k 200.2# when it was all over, up 6# from morning weigh-in. No abs...

Oh and you asked me (a few weeks ago) what my real motivation was, I spent a LOT of time thinking about it and it is basically that I turn 50 in September. I can't control getting older but I do have a say in how I will look at 50. That is what is driving me now.

@adef Heard wrt mirror motivation as an older dude. Glad to hear that you are getting clear on that. Very much similar motivation for me. So what is it exactly that you want to see in the mirror?

@jimmiepop - I want to see a man with a 20 year old body in the mirror! Doesn't have to be a 'body builder' (this takes years and 'dedication' that I don't have) but does have to be 'muscular'. I AM willing to change it up and hit the weights more seriously once I hit the goal weight (which is really the 165 'normal BMI', but, I only have to hit that one time in my life). I will just use the mirror and the calipers (or get a body fat scale) after that.

@chris Great question. My goal is to stay lean(er) year round vs. bouncing up to 18% every winter and then cutting every spring and half of the summer. I recall reading a blog post by a powerlifter who said that as soon as he looks in the mirror and can't see abs, he immediately starts dieting hard. I sounds like about the right standard and response for me. So here goes. I am going to fast today, lift fasted, post w/o LISS, and sauna. Fast overnight tonight and weigh in tomorrow am. That should get me right back on track. If not, I can fast and hit the cardio tomorrow as well.
