yduj57's Journal, 07 August 2012

This WOE is getting easier and easier. I have gone through numerous temptations, and have not succumbed. It is clear that I have been able to make a shift in my way of thinking, which in turn effects my way of eating. I look at the sweets that were my downfall in the past, and I can no longer separate the risks to my health that they present from the short term gratification they offer. Perhaps because of my age, in my 50's, my health is the choice I make every time. I am tired of looking and feeling like crap. I can't deny I ate my way to this place, and now I need to eat my way out of it.

That is great! "Eat my way out of it." Very wise and true, too.

You're doing great. I'm a lot older than you and believe me. If I can do it, anyone can. You're right. When you think about the momentary pleasure of the treat and the very real risk it imposes on your health, it just isn't worth it. Good going lady!

I love the quote "A year from now, you will wish you had started today." So true! I wish I'd started sooner, but since I can't, I'll be SURE that I make every day forward count.
