This might be the best ribeye I've done. I usually reserve wood smoke flavor for bbq/smoking but the moderate applewood smoke smell and flavor is fantastic! Had leftover ribeye and eggs this morning. When the ribeye chunks hit the pan the meaty smokey smell was incredible! This is the first time I've made herb butter with minced serrano. It's probably going to become a regular garnish. I could have eaten the entire stick while mixing and seasoning it! Yup, pre-game was whiskey and butter.

WOW that looks amazing! I think I would have sauteed green onions, mushrooms & garlic with it and also Gentlemen Jack on the rocks, well maybe this weekend :-)

Looks beautiful. I did a 5 lb prime rib with apple wood. Hubby actually said it was the best one yet. Nice mixed greens for me and potato salad for everyone else. Fruit for dessert if anyone wanted it....

Wow, prime rib with applewood smoke would be amazing! I've been to scared to cook it but it might be time to give it a shot. Gentleman Jack used to be the booze of choice for ribeyes. Imo, the Jameson Caskmates Stout is better and I think it's a little cheaper too. Try it!
