cocobutt's Journal, 02 August 2012

I didn't weigh in this morning, but I'm pretty sure I'm in the 167 range and I'm not happy about that. It's creeping up on me.

I just joined Jo's New Start challenge, and while I was taking my short walk this morning, I thought about all the things I have to be grateful for and there are many. I will do that every time I walk in the morning to start the day off right.

Having my safe breakfast of yogurt and nuts. I need to get groceries, so I'll take a look at some light recipes today before I go. I need a plan instead of foraging around like I have been.

I took some niacin yesterday and my vertigo doesn't seem as bad today. Maybe I should take niacin every night.

Coco, I take Niaspan every night. If you can live with the "flush" it really seems to improve lipids too. My good cholesterol levels have gone up from 27 to 51 and all of my numbers are in range now. Thanks for joining the challenge. I looks like we are going to have a great group of friends with us. Hugs!!!

Hi Jo! I didn't know that niacin was good for cholesterol. My cholesterol levels last year were very good except for the "good" cholesterol, which was borderline low. Now that I've restarted taking my vitamins and niacin over the last week, I already feel better. As for challenges -- I have been terrible at participating, but I really want to stick to this one. I like the idea of being able to start over instead of just giving up.
