I am reluctant to lower my daily calories below 1400. I'm 5'10" female over 60 yrs old, with moderate activity level. My weight has stayed stable the last month, but I'm 20 pounds over my goal. Shooting for a BMI of 22, currently at 25. Should I reduce calories or just increase activity?Thoughts?

I don't lose at 1400 calories but I jacked up my metabolism with teenage anorexia. I have to stay around 1200-1300 calories. Maybe try a slight decrease to 1350 or 1300? Offsetting it with activity is always a great thing.

Could be time to start lifting weights and build some muscle, work on reducing bodyfat instead of straight BMI.

You cannot out work an ineffective diet. The keys to successful fat loss are diet, diet, diet, diet and diet. Have you looked at fasting? It's definitely not for everyone, but if you can hack it, it is by far the most effective way to drop fat and break a plateau. Let's go! #stillgrindtime #stayhungry #alwaysdiet

Decreasing calories can lower the metabolism. Abbadabba is giving the best advice here. Building muscle means losing fat but by simply decreasing your nutrients you may lose muscle and hold onto fat. Weight isn’t always an accurate tell of health

Exercise, especially weight-bearing is great for long-term reshaping the body. But diet is key to weight loss. Maybe consider changing your WOE?
