CrashtestDawnie's Journal, 18 June 2018

So I’ve been reading about insulin resistance and fasting lately. I’ve been dabbling with fasting but I think I’m ready to make a commitment. I’m going to do 16:8 with my last meal right before my window closes. Wish me will power 😄

Good luck! Also, for me, it is easier to skip breakfast and lunch. But, everyone is different.

How long will you plan to do the 16/8 fast?

You got this!!!

If you think about it if you eat dinner at the standard time, around 5-6 pm and you eat a late breakfast (providing your work schedule works with that) you are essentially fasting for 16 hours.. so actually not much of a stretch providing you are not use to snacking at night.

You can do it and I think you will like the results!

Hey sweetie, you can do it. I have been for some time and it's not that hard after a week. Actually for me it was instantaneously easy cause I'm eating keto/low carb and I LOVE FOOD!!! lol

Good luck. You might like Oscar Meyer Selects Turkey Bacon. Less than half as much fat than regular (heart-clogging and macro-killing) bacon! ;-)

Good luck! I started a 60 hour fast last night. I use the Reboot kit from Pruvit. this is my 4th time to do it and I always feel great after.

Not sure what 16: means?

I do the 16:8 fasting and can promise after the first week or so it just becomes normal!

I've been doing this as well, only eating between 2-8pm. I sort of cheat a bit by having coffee with cream some mornings, but that's it. I was hungry at first, but then my body got used to it and now it's a no-brainer. It really helps keeping the calories low because you're not eating all day. When I tried eating many mini-meals, all I did was obsess over food. Now, I plan my menu to fit into that time slot and really don't think about it the rest of the day. Hope it works as well for you as it has for me!

@ccAngel50 - 16 hours (most of them you are actually sleeping) fasting and only 8 hours (in a row) eating (16 + 8 = 24 hours in a day)

Would you please explain what 16:8 means. Thanks

I generally IF daily, my eating window is 5-9pm - it just works with my work roster! I have coffee with either almond or coconut milk (unsweetened and compliant, naturally) usually twice during the day, well under the 50 calorie break point. Good luck with it. I am OMAD usually (not right now because i'm sick!) and starting IF was the progression point for this.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys! It went really well. I hope to continue this for as long as I’m on Keto (at least). My only issue was getting enough fat. I had to lower my protein tonight, and eat 3 fat bombs and I’m really full which kinda sucks but no biggie. Will plan tomorrow’s meals so it doesn’t happen again 😀

Jimmie it was easy! all I need now is to hit the gym in the am. Christal I’m hoping for bigger drops on the scale! Kenna that is what I’m aiming for. Snacking at night is still a problem for me but I’m going to stay strong! Blue 60 hours is too hard core for me 😄 but good luck! Maybe I’ll get there 1 day! LZen I’m eating from 11:30-7:30 and I’m looking forward to just planing out my 2 meals and not having to think about it anymore! Mishell I hope you feel better soon!

The sixteen eight works well and gives your system a rest, give it a month to see a change, try adding a ketone diet with this to bring your carbs down and walk for half an hour to an hour each day, you will lose weight and feel 100% better.
