Miraculum's Journal, 30 May 2018

My husband and I are sweet-freaks and we're both eating LCHF now. Before beginning this WOE on May 6th, and even before my surgery in January, I did almost none of the meal prep and cooking. Between January and April, he had the additional burden of all the cleaning, running errands, and ferrying me to M.D. appointments.

Now, my husband and I cooperate in planning and preparing meals and I've been much more attentive to clean-up in addition to my usual household chores. My primary "job" these days is to concentrate on learning LCHF/keto to improve our health. I've always enjoyed reading and researching subjects that totally absorb me, and I'm fascinated by the LCHF/ketogenic way of life and how it can help us deal with our health challenges.

I fasted from 7:00 p.m. last evening through 1:00 p.m. this afternoon -- 18 hours! I've been fine-tuning today's meals to get as close to 20g total carbs as possible. I'm not craving carbs constantly like I have for my entire life. I like how this feels!

I'm trying to get the fasting down pat. I went 15 hours yesterday, but only 14 today. I'll get it one of these days. I'm proud of you.

Thanks, folks! Dboza, it's taken me three weeks to get to this point on IF. Before this, I was planning where to stop for chocolate or ice cream or cookies every time I started my car's ignition, no matter where else I was going. It's been much easier now that the cravings have quieted and the between-meal (read: all-day) snacking habit has been broken. Very liberating!
