Please don’t give up. I have stopped and started several times and I refuse to give up.

We all feel this way from time to time...the reason we're here is because we want this time to be different. Don't let the negative nelly in your head stop you from doing what's best for you!! You've got this and we are all here to help! Talk to us, complain to us, rant and rave and yell to us...but get back on the wagon!!

Keep going!! Try a different way of eating...have you tried low carb high fat? It has worked well for me

Whatever. When you get finished with your pity party, please consider tracking 100% of your intake for the next 10 days. If, after that, it remains unclear why you are not dropping (unlikely), post for help. Let's go! #mindset #getserious #grindtime

That is the problem right there. Feeling deprived. You wont feel like that on keto or low carb. Not if you do it correctly.

Don't do it, do not quit !!!! we all get slow or no progress from time to time, it is the bodies way of attempting to protect your organs....It can be discouraging, but just do what you know to do when it comes to a healthy eating plan. If something isn't working, research and try again.....It may take some time to find what works and what doesn't, but it will work out after some time. Good luck !!!!

Please don’t do that. Take a deep breath. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Is there anything we can do to help?

Slow down. Eat just a small portion of what you feel your deprived of. Maybe like 1/4 a cup. Eat it slowly and savor the flavor. Drink 16 oz of water then and wait at least a half hour if you are still feeling like you need more then just eat another 1/4 cup and again water and time. Then make your next meal on the diet plan you have created. Yes it might mess up any ketos or blood glucose and you might gain a bit from going back to the wrong stuff but it is better than going completely off or a binge. You can change your lifestyle of eating if you take a moment and slowly adjust till you enjoy your new norm and find you dont need the old food. In the future talk to yourself and say ok if I still feel this way tomorrow I will eat a little and see how many days you can resist the urge for something that does not meet your diet plan. It will get easier.

Maybe the diet you're on is not good for you. I kissed many diet frogs, and took me a long time to know my body and my behaviors, and find what works for me. I'm doing my own thing. I eat very nutritious food (good fats, veg, proteins), eat very healthy and very varied stuff. Most of the time I don't even need to write what I eat in my journal anymore, and I only go to the journal when I need to make calculations for certain meals and whatnot. I can tell you, I can still eat chocolate (this is my kryptonite) every day, and I'm losing like crazy. TLDR; the diet you are on might not be the right one for you. Know yourself and find what works.

The only person you will hurt by giving up is you. Find your motivation, find your reason for wanting to be healthier. Don't worry about it being some deep emotional thing either. One of mine is I want to ride roller coasters again. That shallow, but important to me. By giving up, you are cheating future you out of better days, pain free days, active days, more days with the family and friends. We will all keep going, if you quit, but you will be cheating you. Don't do it. Stick with it, make some tweaks and start again. You can do this.

I'll echo others thoughts here - sometimes one has to research and try many different tactics/strategies for weight loss until you find one that works for you. I went through most of the popular ones until I found something that: made sense to me and one that I could sustain my results. You may have to try something else until you find something that works (for you).

You don't need a "diet", you need a lifestyle. Find a healthy eating plan that you enjoy, that provides food you like, and that works for you. For me, I've tried absolutely everything but always fell back to the old ways because it was just too complicated or I felt deprived of certain foods. Low Carb/Mod Fat/Mod Protein is working very well for me. I can eat just about everything I like, in moderation, with a few tweaks here and there to replace high carb foods with low carb alternatives. Over the recent holiday weekend, I had steak, baked potato, birthday cake and ice cream. And I lost 2#. Once you find what works and how to satisfy your body, you will be able to live with it day to day and the progress will come. Google IIFYM (If it Fits Your Macros) and use their macro calculator to find a good starting point for yourself, then use the Diaries on FS to track everything you eat (even the cake and ice cream). Before long, you'll see where you need to adjust, and you'll be on your way to a healthy, comfortable weight.

There is no need to quit eating food u like, but if we want to lose weight....moderation of food will be a must

Exactly, if you are hunger, then eat something. Try to not eat carby foods though. Personally, I have nuts at the front of my cabinet so I just grab some and stuff my face! Almonds, walnuts, pistachios. Summer is here so Bing cherries in the fridge and sf popsicles in the freezer. I admit, I’m a snacker so must have munchies!

I agree, you need a lifestyle change. You also need to be honest and ask if you're willing to put in the effort to make it happen. Many want it, but few are willing to apply what is needed to make it happen. I personally think you are worth the effort.

I can relate. But it is something that you just need to do for YOU. I really understand what everyone is saying and agree to a point. But again it is very frustrating when you or at least I follow the 'rules' but the results aren't there. What do I do? I jump off and do my 'pity party' and then just get back on the 'wagon' at least taking it one day and sometimes one moment at a time. It is a never ending battle for me and my body is very resistant to weight loss, but just getting through one more day seems to help. Last weekend was a bust but yesterday and so far today have been good. Take care.

If you are serious about weight loss, go to dietdoctor.com and take the two week challenge. My 24yo daughter lost 18# on hers. It's a lifestyle, not a "diet".
