Excellent progress! Nicely done. Love seeing someone track their moving average. Let's go! #grindtime

You and me both! Barring anything unforeseen, it looks like I'll be able to go weigh next Friday.

How do you track your "trending? ?
27 May 18 by member: adefwebserver
@adef, I use an app called Libra. It takes my most recent weigh ins (I have mine set for 7 days) and averages the data. This allows me to see a "truer" daily average that smoothes out the daily fluctuations from water gain, dehydration, poo, etc. If you flip thru my journal entries, you'll see some weigh ins on a black & red graph, thats Libra. Pretty sure I posted a Libra graph at the start of May & right before Easter. I'll be posting a new Libra graph at the end of this month too.

@cjodyssey, can't wait for next Friday! You got this! I predict a loss of 15+ since your May 5th weight. (I'm basing my prediction on snooping thru your food diary hehe!) You're doing fabulous!

@MillaLite - Thanks! Ok Installed! (and I paid the $4 to disable the ads). The app says I am "overweight" :) This is a win for me because a month ago I am sure it would have said I was "obese".

@MillaLite - Sorry to bug you again, but can you explain how you measure your "morning fasted glucose" and what does it mean? Thanks!

You and MFP pretty much agree. I'm thinking a little more than that but my feet and lower legs begin to swell as soon they get near the floor so with an afternoon appointment and an hour long car ride to get there, there's no telling for sure what the scale will read. But the loss is there. There's been a bunch of things over the last couple of weeks that have really stood out to me and made me notice my body is getting smaller. Things most people have never experienced and wouldn't want to lol i mean who wants to marvel over the fact that they can now easily reach their entire underarm to put on deodorant? Or brush and put up their hair without losing of their breath?

I have the paid version too. Been using Libra since January 2012. Yours will look different (white vs my black). I'm using an older version of the app with no desire to upgrade. Happy tracking, Adef!

CJ, I originally typed in 20 pounds but lowered my prediction before posting. And don't discount any of your NSV's. Those events that us chubby people take for granted are huge accomplishments and proof that you are shrinking! I admit, there are days I skip deodorant out of laziness. The fact of simply not applying it because I couldn't reach my underarms well, I don't know those daily struggles... But I do know this, you will get your health back! You've done it before, you'll do it again!

@Adef, I use a glucometer and check my blood glucose readings like a diabetic. I'm not diabetic, so I'm not super strict with checking my number 2 hours past every meal. I do check every waking morning and end of day before bed. I do this because higher glucose = higher insulin. Higher insulin = higher fat storage. Although calories do play a role in weight management, it's my belief that our hormones play a BIGGER role, and insulin is the biggest player of all the factoring hormones. Leptin (satiety) & ghrelin (hunger) hormones are controlled by insulin levels as well. Basically, I try to keep my insulin low by keeping my blood sugars low. Thus controlling appetite & weight.

Oh i put it on. I just could do it to my whole underarm in the regular fashion. You have to get creative with some things at large sizes lol

*couldn't

@MillaLite - Thanks! I just bought a Glucometer ($34 on Amazon Same day delivery!). While I am a big believer in the laws of thermodynamics, I know that my weight loss is controlled by my blood sugar and hormones.

Oh I'm sure about the creative ways of big people. What's that saying? Necessity is the mother of all invention? Something like that. No doubt you've found ways to get things done. My daddy was always on me growing up about my lazy hygiene. He'd tell me, "Honey, if you can smell yourself, everyone else has been smelling you for 3 days!" Of course, I now use that phrase on my own kids lol.

@Adef, you will be SHOCKED to see what carbs do to your glucose readings. It's a real eye opener for sure.

My son was like that until he turned 12 and got into football and began going to practices after school. I think being in an enclosed space with a bunch of sweaty boys made him realize just how bad it could get. Now he showers on his own without me mentioning it.
