LSG417's Journal, 22 May 2018

Well the scale was at 139.0 this morning, so if I can keep on track this week, I think I've finally left the 140s for good! I have 5 pounds to go to reach my second mini goal, which will officially have me out of the overweight category and in a healthy BMI range (according to doctors). I noticed stretch marks on my hips and around my belly button this morning. Those were from my two pregnancies, but I think a few more were added from my weight gain over the last 6 years. Oh well. It is what it is. The only person who will see those is my hubs. He doesn't seem to notice my flaws anyway. He has started saying, "When you turn sideways, I can barely see you, you're getting so skinny!" 😂 I told him he's full of it, but it's nice to know he notices. My Dad commented on my weight loss Sunday. Mom hasn't said a word. She let's me know when I look like I'm 5 months pregnant, but not when I've improved myself. There have been times when my mother's criticism burns to the core. I've learned to not let that define me tho. I think that's one reason why my Dad will go out of his way to say something nice about me in front of her. I'm not doing this because of her tho. I'm doing it because I needed to for my health and now I'm feeling better and more confident...dare I say, even sexy again. My husband appreciates my increased confidence 😉

Hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday. We finally got a break in the rain/clouds yesterday, but they're back for today.

regarding stretch marks I see some that I haven't seen in a while without looking in the mirror, so I am grateful to have them. LOL I'm sorry that your Mother is critical that is what hurts the most. My Mother is a blessing and 91 and still with us. I am grateful to have her too.

Hooray for you! Seriously, both on the awesome job you are doing with the weight loss and for the healthy attitude regarding your mother's lack of compliments. Our relationship with parents, especially mother's, can be tricky. Glad to hear you have an appreciative and supportion husband. I have one of those too, so I know they make a world of difference. ❤

Great job!! I'm in the 140s now and hoping to get back to the 130s, so you are very inspiring to me. :) Your mother may not have commented, but it's nice that your dad mad the effort. We're all proud of you here, so just remember the positives and forget the negatives.

Congratulations on reaching a milestone on your journey. I appreciate the nice comments from others but it means the most when it comes from my wife - mostly because she has seen it all during our adventure. I am in this for me and not for the improved looks - I need to be healthy and strong so I can see grandkids and maybe a 50th anniversary. I wish you continued success on your life adventure.

Can understand the mother thing. Mine never gave me a compliment but always told others how proud she was of me. Never could understand that one. Having a least one parent supportive is fantastic, but you are the only one that can be supportive of yourself.
