Well, can't live in denial much longer ... so I decided to "officially" look at the scale this AM. No worries. I will also take a reading before the family heads out for vacation next Friday, then, of course, the dreaded post-vacation weigh in ... THEN it will be back to work time.

Maybe just lots of walks on the beach with the family, sun and sand, water parks, swimming will keep me at a steady number. Lord knows we won't eat supremely healthy ... but we will have a lovely condo with a kitchen, so in general, i will be able to "choose" better foods for the majority of the day.

All that nonsense being said ... i will probably not track anything, food or exercise, (even though i will still be headed to the gym this upcoming week as well as getting in two more rounds of golf until i go cold turkey from it for 10 days), until i return.

Sounds like a good plan. I went on a cruise a year or so ago and even though I worked out every day (seriously, I couldn't sleep in past 6 am, wtf was up with that) I still gained about 7 lbs. Fortunately it all came off pretty quickly (the food was *so* good) - but still. Maybe wait to weigh in a week after you return to allow yourself to lose the water weight?

The most important thing is that you keep in mind all the work you've done to be where you are now. That will certainl help with the food choices during vacation! How do you feel about not golfing for 10 days lol?

@Barbie (love the new username) .... that is the toughest part ... NO GOLF for 10 days! i am addicted to it and need to play once a week and hit balls almost every day ... but this time is for family, and i think a little break from it will be just enough to recharge me, refocus, and make the rest of the season awesome ... all the way through until December, where i go out with my future father-in-law each year, to play 5 straight days ... then we put em away until spring. *sigh*

You must be away on your vacation, or just about. Have a wonderful time! See you in two weeks... With a few pounds gained (for me at least, going to France is never waistline friendy!) and ready to get back on track!

I can't imagine going to France, Anne, and not putting on a few pounds. But yeah, we will all need to get back at it in a few weeks. Will weigh in tomorrow AM before we head down to F-L-A. Beach!
