I survived the weekend and didn’t eat anything I shouldn’t! First time maybe ever! Thanks for all the advice and encouragement. Now to tackle another week and keep chipping away at my excess fat.
I’m not sure keto is a super healthy way of eating, (any thoughts?) but I feel great and this is the first diet I’ve tried that doesn’t stress and depress me. I rarely feel hungry (unlike other diets where I’m constantly starving and thinking about what and when I can eat next) I feel optimistic that I can keep this up and feel great doing it. 151.8 lb Lost so far: 5.8 lb.    Still to go: 26.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Keto goes against everything that’s been told to us. Fat is unhealthy. Don’t eat it. Carbs carbs carbs. Although, once upon a time everyone was convinced the world was flat and you could sail/fall right off the edge of it. 😂😂. I’ve been Keto for almost a year and I can tell you this. I’ve never been healthier. Eating the low-fat, high carb standard diet doesn’t work for me. I craved carbs, gorged on them! I would eat a huge meal and 10 minutes later my stomach would be rumbling like I hadn’t eaten a thing. Type 2 diabetes came along coupled with motility issues. Topped out at 430 pounds. Since Keto my blood sugars are normal, cholesterol levels are perfect for the first time in my life. How’s that?? I’m eating high fat!?!? I cannot explain all of the science behind it. I just know it works for me! Continue to get checkups and blood work done to check your overall health. As with any new way of eating. I wish you much success on your journey ❤️

You think it's not healthy because we have all been brainwashed to believe that fat is bad and we need carbs for energy. Not true.. I was on, high blood pressure meds, high cholesterol meds and anti depressants a year ago. My BMI and Body fat were about 32%. I've been on a high fat, low carb plan for 10 months. I've lost 65lbs. I'm off all meds. My body fat and BMI are about 23%. My waist is 28". I went from a 14 dress to a 4. My doctor says I have added at least 10 years to my life. I am in excellent health. He knows I do keto. He also knows years of his recommendations made me fat. He told me to keep doing what I'm doing. I intend to do it for life. What's good for you is a plan you can stick to.

I need to find a diet that works for me. does keto include calorie counting and are you allowed lots of vegetables on it please?

You just need to pick a WOE that works for you and something you can live with,and stick to to make it a success. You should try experimenting with a WOE, on many different levels as they all have there ups and downs, I'm sure many people will help guide you on your weight loss journey, just ask them..Good luck,and BTW, you can have vegetables and salads with moderation on keto, if you do try keto, gradually ease into it as not to turn your body into shock..!!
