Fluctuating around the 200 lb mark all winter. I'm starting a strict LCHF IF routine today to try to kick the losses back into action - by joining a strict keto challenge. Currently on another round of antibiotics, so we'll see how that affects things. My gut biome has been wiped out three times in the last 8 months. I'm wondering if that's causing part of this stall.
201.6 lb Lost so far: 78.4 lb.    Still to go: 1.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Antibiotics are fattening. Not sure why. Antibiotic usage in childhood impacts adult obesity rates. If they could isolate which bugs do what, they'd probably capture them and sell them to us. Immune system bugs, mental health bugs, metabolism bugs. Bugs that help other bugs.

Jumping in with both feet is the way to go. I know you know all about probiotics, and are doing all you can for your gut biome. I'm rooting for ya!

The doctor put me on Prednisone once & it made me constantly eat. Couldn't stop. If I'd been in the Sahara Desert with nothing, I think I'd have eaten the sand. Not sure if it's an antibiotic. ( The Prednisone, not the sand )

to exumfats: Prednisone is a cortical steroid.

Yeah, the gut biome is definitely the field of study for future medicine. We're just now learning how important it is. So for now I'll be eating fermented foods and taking pro-biotics and eating fermentable fiber, to try to combat the damage that's being done.

There is a place we can submit samples of our flora for a modest fee of $350 if I recall.
