BrandyRelaxing's Journal, 29 January 2012

So I finally lost weight! I was starting to think it wouldn't happen! Of course, my eating hasn't been great, I've developed a Starbucks Ginger Molasses Cookie addiction, so next week, I'm definitely going to need to break that!

I think I've got my groove back for exercise. I have realized I can't do a big workout every second day - my grove is every third day, so in between, I have to work out, but just make it lower impact or a shorter period of time.

Need to sit down today and schedule in my workout days for this week, to make sure it happens!

It is frustrating when the number on the scale doesn't go down, but sometimes it's not telling you the whole story. I was stuck at the same weight for most of this month, and then this week I've lost 3 lbs over 3 consecutive days. Clearly I have't *actually* lost a lb overnight each time, so I must have lost them over the month and my body has just been doing all this other crazy stuff which affected overall weight, like water retention perhaps. As long as you keep with all the great changes you've made, eventually the scale will reflect your efforts.

Scheduling. It is a must for me. If I do not write it down it will not happen. It is like a mini contract for me. If I write it. I am committing to it. You have lost SO much so far. Your body is still adjusting to the new you.

You can be stuck for a while and then see a lot drop off suddenly. It happens. Bodies behave very oddly and in what my scientific colleagues call a non-linear fashion.

"Non-linear", that really describes my weight loss pattern! :)
