kingkeld's Journal, 27 January 2012

Today will be a SHORT journal. This morning got kinda turned upside down. Wife's bad back did a number on her, and I had to become impromptu physiotherapist instead of journaling.

I can, however, tell you guys that I broke my record on the treadmill yesterday - 10 kilometers in 90 minutes. That's the furthest I've ever gone.

Also - resisting chocolate (again), no ice cream - but a banana instead - and an extra 800 calorie burn on the 10 km trek. Not bad for a day's work.

Take care, my friends - I will see if I can journal a little more later. Right now I am at work, so I can't dedicate to this.

Wife is seriously considering to start a journal here. I'm excited for her, and I hope that she'll go through with it.

I know some of you have sent her buddy requests - I think there is a chance that she'll grant 'em. She hasn't been active in the communities here, and haven't really focused on this side of Fatsecret - but is considering it. We'll see what happens.

It's Friday, folks! Life is good!

Have a good day King... As I remember it is usually your "jamming" night. As you didn't mention it, I am wondering if it"s not on tonight. Have a good weekend and a great Indulgence Day... Hope wife's back eases a bit :-)

I do hope your wife soon feels better - back problems are horrible, I know.

SkInny - It's DEFINITELY jam night. We didn't play last week, so I am MORE than eager to play tonight.

Earthlady - Back aches can be a real pain. Pun intended. I used to have back trouble too - I am so happy it's gone. It used to hurt like I didn't even KNOW anything could hurt. :/

has your wife ever considdered a water-bed. I used to have excrusiating back-aces, but since i sleep on a water-bed for 10 years i have no more pains. I think it is because you can relax, but the muscles never are completely still. kind of like being massaged all night long... think about it! love Maud.

Thanks, Maud, I will look into it. Maybe that's a solution. I'm also looking at the memory foam for us. It did wonders back when I had backaches.

Hope your wife's back gets better..been there and its not a fun thing to go through..great job on the 90 minutes on the bike...have fun tonight at your jam session...:O)

ing... Enjoy your jamming - I thought you didn't do it last week, so thought it strange you didn't mention it. We have a memory foam mattress and I can 100+% recommend them. As with all mattresses, you need to make sure you try them in the shop...... Even though you feel an idiot laying on all the beds.... Plus you BOTH need to lay on them - but no hanky panky LOL

Id go for memory foam, but thats because I feel seasick on a waterbed, and I feel like a sinking ship in it :)

Once a back is injured, it seems it can be trouble for life. A bikram yoga class instructor told me, "a healthy spine is a healthy life" It's so true! Take care of you and yours...the best investment we can make is on ourselves! I hope she feels better. We just purchased an inversion table and it has helps take the compression out of our lower backs. Also, I will be seeing a homeopathic healer soon and see if acupuncture helps. I'll keep ya posted! :) Have a great weekend!

I know how much back pain can hurt, I hope she gets better soon. Hubby and I have both had/have messed up backs. We got a Sleep Number Bed a few years back and things have gotten better since then. It might be worth looking into them also.

I have back pain on and off too, I think from not bending at the knees when I pick my daughter up. Anyway, a good massage sometimes helps, from an RMT - I was having trouble at Christmas and went to see an RMT for an hour and have been pretty much pain free for the last month.

Great treading. I'm sure your wife will find many great buddies here when she is ready.

Hope wifey gets better-and back on FS!! Hubby and me have back issues too, and we have had a tempur pedic for about 5 years now. It's hard for me to sleep anywhere else now. Also, there are yoga vid's specifically to combat back pain. Might give it a shot. Have a BITCHEN weekend, jam on, and Happy Friday!

I certainly hope your wife chooses to journal. Would love to have her as a buddy. Terribly sorry about her back though. Hope you're as good a masseur as you are a jogger. 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) in 90 minutes. FANTASTIC! You should do one of those outdoor races.
