kingkeld's Journal, 24 January 2012

It's day 2 after "Pizza and Chocolate Gate" day Sunday. I'm slowly coming down in weight, though it's slow. Stomach is hurting still from the damn pizza, and it's still beating me over the head for making bad choices.

I don't really feel bad about eating the pizza. Those calories were within my budget at the time I ate it. That's okay. I physically feel bad because the pizza makes me constipated and feel miserable. I need to learn this. Hopefully, I'll learn that it has to be quite a while before I do this again.

This morning, I was AMAZED! When Wife came out of the bed room and into the kitchen, it suddenly struck me how MUCH weight she lost! I just can't believe how awesome she looks. I am so proud of her.

It's strange how we sometimes don't really notice the little changes, and then one day BAM! it shows. Well, today is her BAM!-day. I am sure she's gonna get tons of compliments at work, and I gotta watch out for the "stray dogs" around there. She's a great gal, so beautiful.

Yesterday, I did what I could to make up for Sunday. I ate GREAT, stopped around 1200 calories, all good choices. I walked to our meeting with Daughter's counselor and we talked about a future as a graphic designer for Daughter. She's excited that she can get to do something like that, and Wife and I are fully supporting it. She has a talent, she needs to NOT be flipping burgers as a career. We just gotta set it all up right.

After the meeting, I went to the gym, got on the treadmill and watched a full movie! 80 minutes of power walking, with a one minute run every 6 minutes. I think that's pretty good. I went 7½ kilometers like this - I gotta say I impressed myself. Oh, and the movie was a blast too. A new Danish cartoon, and it was just a hoot. :)

Today is gonna be a busy day at work. I have a few "bonus" meetings I need to attend to. Also, I am hoping to find time to prepare a little to be on top of future issues, so I can better see them coming. It's all in the preparation, folks, just like in real life.

This morning, Tabby is entertaining me with so much good music. I'm listening to 181.fm, so much good music to be found, and it's all free! :) Wow, I sound like I'm selling the damn thing! LOL! Really, it is a great place to find online music. I listen (as my buddies know) a lot to classic rock, and there are several stations that have great play lists. Check out The Eagle, should you like. Be careful, you might get stuck there. I know, because I am stuck there.

Tonight is also the night where I go rock out with the kids. Only the bass player showed up last time - I think the rest of the kids had special projects at school, so they weren't there - but that was pretty cool as I got to teach him some more specific bass stuff. He's an eager learner, and it's hard to teach him the little things when there are 5 other kids that need attending to also. We're doing okay though.

Today I am thankful for
- losing a little bit of weight.
- feeling miserable - to teach me a lesson about pizza. Reminding me WHY it sucks! :)
- getting to rock out with the kids tonight.
- rock on the radio.
- seeing how awesome Wife looks, and seeing her smile when I pointed it out. She even wanted me to take a picture for her Facebook - something she doesn't normally do. I'm so proud!

Happy Tuesday in FS-land! Life is good!

Ahh, the scandalous Pizza! Damn Italians! XD. Glad your moving on. Pizza has the same effects on me, and it is a weakness I have. Fortunately (or Unfortunately), there is really no good pizza here. I like local authentic pizza and not the chain stuff myself. Mmmmm, lets change the subject. Good job Kingkeld, glad your wife is coming around too. Mine is too, and it is a fortunate side effect of our Journeys. Even my daughter is losing weight. It is great we can inspire or support our loved ones too!

Great that you had a BAM moment with your wife .... I bet she was sopleased (that sounded soooo wrong LOL). I bet that bass player was quite pleased the others didn't turn up, it meant he had you all to himself :-). Enjoy tonight with the kids

Ahahahahaaa!! I love pizza but it totally constipates me, too. As Robot Mum says, "cheese is very Binding." Adorable English euphemisms. I'm superstoked that your wife is feeling proud of her achievements and pretty enough for pictures... that's a Bam moment in and of itself!

Hey Keld, any chance that you're lactose intolerant? I hope you feel better soon. Now that 80 minutes on the treadmill powerwalking with you run in between is amazing. Well done.

@ferlengheti - "Binding" is an awesome choice of word for that. I think I like your RoboMom. :)

@Helewis - With the amount of ice cream I have consumed through my life, there is NO CHANCE I am lactose intolerant. :)

Hi, Keld. I know we are newer buddies, do you have celiac? I'm sorry to hear that your stomach is still bothering you from the pizza, that's a real bummer. So happy for your wife!!! It's great to see that you guys are making some lifestyle changes together, that's a beautiful thing. You're both very fortunate!! Awesome treadmill time, too. Love classic rock, rock in general... I love listening to AC/DC Pandora station (do you get Pandora?), it really makes me push myself on the elliptical... it's amazing the effect music can have on us! Have a great day, Keld!

Yeah, that cheese will do it every time... happens to me and hubby too. Sucks, cuz it tastes SOOOO GOOOD. We try like hell to avoid it, only for the after effects, and it happens even when you get a ton of veggies on it! Delicious no matter what... Feel better, and WAY TO GO on the treadmill killin!!!

Yeah wifey! I'm doing a Happy Dance for her. It is so great to get a compliment about losing weight it is even better to have your significant other acknowledge it. I'm sure she is on cloud nine today. I know what you mean about the pizza. It can have some major affects on me too. Have fun witht the kids tonight. P.S. Love the great input you put on DiHappy's journal. We often need men's opinions on those types of things but don't know where to get it. You rock!
