EDIT! OMG OMG OMG! I just got the most AMAZING Christmas gift! You will not believe it, when you see it. I will post about it in tomorrow's journal! Keep your eyes peeled! :) END OF EDIT!

Ouch. The After-Christmas-Eve-HORROR-Weight-In!

I had a wonderful evening with Wife and Daughter. It was just as I hoped it would be, good food, good company, good music in the background, the presents, the after-dinner card games and everything else that goes with a nice Christmas eve for me.

The loot, you ask? :) I got a blu-ray box set of The Walking Dead season 1, the new Ozzy Osbourne biography "I am Ozzy", and a CD boxset of a Danish Classic Rock band called Gasolin'.

They pretty much set the standards of Classic Rock in Denmark - and I and pretty much everyone else in Denmark (along with Wife) loves them.
Here's a little of what they do:

We play this song in The Black Peanut as well. It's a good rocker AND a crowd pleaser here in Denmark.

Back to the weigh-in: I really didn't want to record this one - but I gotta do what I gotta do, and recording my daily weigh-in is something I gotta do. It's important.

Of course, I know that this is NOT a fat gain, then I would have had to go something like 21,000 calories over what I burned yesterday. No, it's all the good food, the salt and all the other "baddies" that comes with a Christmas dinner. I'm essentially okay with it, I just hate to see that high number.

Then again, in the big picture, it's a great number. My lowest as of yesterday was 81.9 kgs. Today I am 84.7 kgs. I used to be 155. I think I can live with being 84.7 a few days. I'll take it!

I have full focus on getting back on track though. Sure, yesterday was Indulgence Day, but I went over my goal by a little too much, and I generally feel miserable after the feast yesterday.

The food was, however, oh soooo gooood! Wife made a traditional Danish Christmas meal, pork roast, potatoes, brown sugar caramelized potatoes, red cabbage, pickles and gravy. Yum! And not only that, but probably the best I have had in years. She just keep upping the game, and I love it!

Today, I gained so much weight, and my stomach is STILL hurting from last night. LOL. I ate WAY too much. I am gonna work hard on feeling better, and I will work out quite a lot today. As a matter of fact, I have already started.

I was so tempted to NOT do my morning workout. It's Christmas day, it's a little cold in the living room and I am sure if I had looked for them, I would have found another 1000 excuses lying about in the apartment. However, I pulled myself together, and did my usual 30 minutes workout. 5 minutes into it, I realized why it is that I like it. It felt GREAT! Not only does it feel good to my body to start the day with this workout, it also feels great to my mind. I feel that I'm working my way towards my goal. I feel that I'm DOING! And THAT is what I'm gonna do all day today.

I have already arranged with Wife that we're gonna go for a long walk. She has pains in her leg and side, so I might have to "drop her off" at home half way or something, but I will keep going.

EDIT:
Wife is not feeling too well, so there will be no walk with her. I am still contemplating going on my own - the weather looks super nice. Also, to make sure I did something today, I got on the exercise bike. Guess what! I ended up going for 2 1/2 hours straight. Only stopping for water and potty breaks! I set my timer to call on me once every hour to drink water. I'm not good at drinking water when I'm home. I tend to forget. This way I'll remember. So, if I end up NOT walking, then I already have burned a LOT of extra calories today. :) END OF EDIT.

The rest of the day I will try to move around more than usual. I will spend our movie watching - something we like to do on Christmas day - sitting on my exercise bike. Not putting on a TON of weight, I don't want it to be exhausting and wear me completely out, just enough to keep my body in motion. Just to not just sit at my laptop doing essentially nothing. Hopefully this will add to a speedy weight loss recovery.

How about you guys? Did anyone else celebrate Christmas already? I know the majority of you guys will be doing it today - I can't wait to hear about it!

Today I am thankful
- that I did my exercise! I feel amazing!
- movies!
- coffee!
- the ability to feel back on track without too much effort!
- my gifts, which are gonna be enjoyed throughout Christmas!

Take care, my friends, and once more - Merry Christmas!

Life is good!

Glad you had a fab day yesterday Keld.... Wow, exercising on Christmas Day.... We did a little celebrating yesterday ... In alcohol terms. Today is Christmas dinner day, starting with parma ham, baby tomatoes and watercress with a sprinkle of pine nuts and a balsamic dressing. Mains is turkey crown with bacon lattice on top and a sage and cranberry stuffing, sausages wrapped in bacon, roast potato, roast parsnip, roast carrot, plus some brussel sprouts and broccoli.... Washed down with a cheeky little wine. Pudding will be a Christmas pudding for hubby - I will have fruit as I am not a big pudding person. Have a great day Keld - I think we will all put-on a little weight, it's how you deal with it fate that's important :-)

You're so right about dealing with it, Pam. And your dinner sounds AWESOME. Only one thing wrong with it - you forgot to invite me! :) Enjoy your day too. I know you will.

Sk1nny is right. It's how you deal with it that's important. And look how you dealt with it! 2.5 hours on the bike. Good for you, Keld. Glad you had such a splendid Christmas. Truly hope your wife feels better soon.

I do hope your wife's feeling better. When was Gasolin famous? I was in Denmark on a school exchange trip waaaaaay back in 1973 or 74 and that sound is familiar as is the name, but it may be wishful thinking :) Sounds great, though. As I've said before, Turks don't normally celebrate Christmas, but we did go out for a lovely family dinner this evening, just got back - went over my RDI but I'm not 'stuffed' so hopeful that there won't be a major flux. We've booked ourselves into the same restaurant for next week's new year party when we'll be a group of 9 or 10 so looking forward to that. Can't wait to hear about your mystery gift :)

I am glad you had a great Christmas King, I did too. I hope your wife feels better. I was wanting the Rush Sector (1/2/3/4) boxed sets myself. I am not too disappointed they are not there, I will get them someday! Dont worry about the weight, some days/meals are worth more then our daily regiment. We will still be a success on our Journey. Like the generals say, "We may lose a few battles, but we will win the war!!"..
