Day 19 of 28 days on the Leptin Reset ala Dr. Kruse.

Weight was 202.8 this morning. Don't know how "true" it is because I appear to have a bit of a digestive upset happening. I spent a good 30 minutes up in the middle of the night ... and still don't feel 100% this morning. But still. I'll take it.

So Dr. Kruse says 4 to 6 weeks to reset your leptin sensitivity. 4 weeks = 28 days and would end just before Thanksgiving. Which I just realized is NEXT week!!! How did that happen? I need to order myself a Turkey. I like to get them fresh not frozen. Guess I better get my act together!!

Anyway ... I am going to continue with this same way of eating ... at least until Thanksgiving since it is only next week. I find myself frustrated. I was going to be "under" 200 by the end of October and here I am ... nearly half way through November and still not under 200. Oh well. Look at the bright side ... I get to make my "weigh in now" go away today!! I need to go back and look at my numbers over the last 3 years and dose myself with some reality. I have always had fairly substantial fluctuations. I KNOW that fluctuations on the scale do not necessarily reflect true weight gain. And ... isn't it interesting that yesterday I actually exceeded my RDI and the scale showed a decline? In fact I've been higher in calories the last few days I think ... and the scale is slowly inching downward. Very interesting.

Not sure if we are doing anything today other than being here at home. Perhaps a run to the dump ... perhaps not!!!

It snowed on and off most of yesterday. Enough to cover the ground and weigh down all the wild grass and weeds that had sprung up this spring and summer. The trees are partially covered in snow. But it is the wet, heavy kind ... not the soft, light, fluffy kind of snow so the roads are likely to be quite slick!!

I am grateful this morning ...

1. For the sound and smell of a fresh pot of coffee perking on the stove.

2. For soft toilet paper.

3. One more "day of rest" before a busy week ahead of me!!

4. Exactly one week from today my mom will be home after 3 months of visiting her sister in Los Angeles!!! YAY!!!

5. Options.

Brain is not fully activated so perhaps none of the above makes sense. I haven't had my first cup of coffee!! Yesterday was productive. Got laundry done, upstairs bathroom cleaned, kitchen floor mopped, stove top freshened up, downstairs carpet vacuumed, trimmed the dogs nails, and freshened up my own toes!! Not too bad for a Saturday.

That's enough for now. I'm grateful. I'll continue to practice kindness to myself on this journey. I'll remind myself how my body works ... in regards to fluctuations ... numbers on the scale and I will see you tomorrow hopefully.

Take care!!

LOL!!! I like it when it says I'll reach my goal weight in 7 days!!! But of course it isn't "right" then nor is it "right" now ... just annoying!!! I'm going to do some calculating today to regain my perspective. I seem to have lost my perspective sometime between March 2011 and now ... must find it again!!! Off to check your journal Sharon!!
