Im telling you I could never do indulgence day regularly. It would break me mentally. However I can see that it is working for you and I think it is so great that you have found something that works for you!

Wow those enchiladas MUST have been good LOL.... I'm with sunshine girl... Don't think I could do it - it would mess with my head too much, jumping on the scales the next morning.... But it works for you which is great :-)

I find that there are three difficult things in doing the Indulgence Days. First one is to actually eat all those calories, though I have found some good ways to do it. I usually add chocolate or something else that I normally can't afford on a weight loss RDI. Second, the mental preparedness for weight gain the days after. It's just like morning traffic - you know it's gonna be there, so expect it and be pleasantly surprised if it's not there one day. And third - and this is probably the hardest one to crack - is the Sunday munchies. I guess because the blood sugar levels are different after Indulgence Day, I get the munchies BAD. I have now found that proteine bars might helt - they fill me up in a different way than other snacks, and might just do the trick. ...and of course things get easier knowing that I do see results doing it. Next Saturday I will skip Indulgence Day though - I will move it to the following Thursday for Thanksgiving. I think I need it more on that day! :)

I am also the one that gets road rage every day due to morning traffic, and this is what is going to make you laugh. Traffic holds us up for maybe 5 minutes, I live in a small city, can you tell!?! Thankfully I ride the bus, so no-one gets hurt no matter how much the traffic bothers me. I guess this is just proof again that indulgence day would not be my thing. Love what you said Sazy about individual stories and shared journey. It is so true.

How many calories do you have to eat on Indulgence Day? Is there a set amount?

Drool!!! Cheese enchiladas AND rice??? Sounds delicious. I'm pondering still ... but am seriously thinking of trying this out AFTER Thanksgiving or perhaps starting with an indulgence day of Thanksgiving and moving forward from there ... which ever way makes sense. Question. Do you absolutely have to eat 2x your RMR on Indulgence day? Is that what you do? My body pretty easily fluctuates on the scale which you would think I would be used to after 3 years of this journey. Good to know to expect an up fluct for probably several days after indulgence day? I looked at your weight chart today and I must say it is rather impressive. Do you record everyday? I can see little ups and downs but it looks like a steady decline to me. Awesome. Well done and I'm looking forward to being witness to your ongoing journey.

Madaboutmoose, I do weigh in every - EVERY - day. I need this to feel that I am in total control. I like to see what my food and exercise actions do to the scale - it helps me understand the ins and outs of weight loss. I do have many ups and downs, but overall it has been a steady and FAST weight loss journey, and much easier than I would have ever thought it would be. There has of course been many frustrations, especially when I get impatient when I'm not losing weight, but I have more or less learned to overcome this and just live with the fact that I can't lose weight every day. Now, this still doesn't mean I won't b*tch and whine about it, though. :) It's my belief that it's pretty essential to eat the full 2xRMR on Indulgence Day. You do this to convince your body that there is NO shortage of food, and according to my very limited research, of which I no longer remember the source (it might have been from the Spike Diet, but I'm not sure - never read the book!), this will do the trick. It will supposedly make your body relax and realize that it's perfectly safe to let go of the fat storage. To me, it works. Of course, we're all different, and what works for me may not work for you. I hope this helps.
