aggie95's Journal, 01 April 2016

Went out last night for supper. And I had a drink and the fajitas. Sigh! I wasn't feeling well last night either in the way of having any energy. So I went to bed early. I feel good today. Nervous about the race on Sunday. I know I can do the 10k. I'm just nervous about getting there on time and then being about to come home at a reasonable time so that I can get other things done. Get in and then get out! And then I looking forward to not being stressed about running 10k again! The weather for Sunday is not spring like either. In fact, it's expected to snow! Oh well, in a few days this will all be over!

Hi Aggie, you are probably just having a few last minute nerves. You will rock the race, just try and get there with lots of time to spare so you can feel prepared and not overly anxious when it comes time for the start of the race. I know from personal experience, the one and only organized 10 km race I entered, I didn't give myself enough time to prepare and felt a bit rushed and nervous, it also didn't help that I had to do a mad dash for the porta-potty before the race due to my nervousness ;) (sorry if TMI)lol

Some tips: Make sure to get there a little early to make sure you have time to go to the porta-potty before the race. You don't want to feel the urge half way through. Don't start out too fast. Pace yourself based on what you can do, not others. Better to be a little slow and complete the race rather than exhausted half way through. Relax, stay focused and you'll do fine. Have a great race!
