The countdown continues ... 42 more radiation days!

4.9 degrees outside this morning on my back porch. BRRRR!!! Wish I could make hot flashes occur on demand ... when they are convenient but of course it doesn't work that way. They do come in handy when it is this cold ... at least at night because they wake me up and I simply stumble down the stairs to stoke our two wood burning stoves so the house stays a reasonable temperature. Tonight is supposed to be just as cold but then we should return to normal temperatures. Who would have ever imagined that 20 degrees would sound WARM?

I have weighed 179.8 for three consecutive Thursdays, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and now TODAY! I am feeling very positive about the length of time I've stayed in this range. I might be 180 or 181 tomorrow but I know it doesn't really matter. And so my goal for the 7 day challenge of not letting fluctuations trouble me is going well.

I enjoyed looking at Momoftwogirl's Disney trip photos last night. It is so much fun getting a little peek into my support group's respective lives here on fatsecret. When I started this, nearly a year ago, I never imagined that the journal entries and buddies would be such a help. I was mostly interested in losing weight and tracking calories. Now I feel like this will be a place I will be for a long, long, time ... maybe "forever"!!!

I must get about my business and get my day started here. I have a visit this morning, a phone call I need to make a noon to schedule a new intake, a ton of paperwork to be done, and an eye doctor appointment this afternoon.

Today ... I am grateful for ...

1. the beauty of watching the sunrise over the snow covered mountains
2. the challenge of warming up a very cold house that has sat alone with the dog all day long (poor puppy!!!)
3. waking up from a bad dream and realizing it was just a bad dream
4. scoring some GREAT buys for my mom and myself at a Coldwater Creek sale this week
5. the realization that having more money doesn't necessarily mean increased happiness in life

I wish for each of you a day where you can identify, soak up, and glow in what you are grateful for on this day. Also, that you can find what is "okay" about yourself and be content with your imperfections. I still am learning how to laugh at myself and not take everything so darn seriously ... that will be a life time challenge for me as well as staying healthy!! In mind and body ... right? Have a great day my friends!!

Three cheers for Coldwater Creek and L.L. Bean! Continued success with the treatment count down. Your number 5 really rocks my world -- especially since we do not have much money right now. He-he-he-he-he-he-he! We are counting the days till payday! MUCH LOVE.

Ooh, eye exam, thats something I need to do. I feel like everything is starting to blur - guess 29 isn't as young as I thought!! LOL Your doing so great - I'm so proud of you!! And I'm glad you liked the picutres, and HOPEFULLY I'll be able to get some on here for everyone else to see tonight or tomorrow night! Have a great one!

I hear you on the keeping the house warm! I also have dogs and had been leaving the heat on at 68 during the day so they wouldn't be cold... then I got our electric/gas bill and freaked out!!! Looks like they will be "suffering" at 63 during the day. My mom loves when I visit and we go to the Coldwater Creek outlet near her house... I like their jewelry a lot! Keep doing what you are doing Moose, it's working! :)

I am so impressed with your steady weight. Really great job. I too came here for the food tracker and I've been surprised at how much the community has become part of my life. Stay warm today!

We are in the 70s here and after cold 60s.. 70s is hot now. I hope you keep warm! I can send some your way. You are at a steady weight, If you only weighed in weekly you'd probably be paniced at being on a plataeu. I also weigh in daily, just not to fs. Kudos for you not letting the scale determin your mood everyday (WELL, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN LOL)

Oh my, and I was feeling crummy because it's been snowing ALL day here and the temps are in the 20's. Then I read your journal. Isn't it funny how someone else's situation can always put things in perspective? :) I hope you warm up soon!

Oh Twilight I YEARN for 20 degrees!! LOL!!! It was 54 in our house when we got home tonight. I can't seem to teach my Doberman how to stoke the fire during the day when we are all at work!! It is supposed to warm up to the 20's tomorrow ... I sure hope they are right!!

I, apparently, am the super-big-wussum who thought 54 degrees today was freezing as I was tromping around a client's property doing an inspection and getting incessantly sniffed by their chocolate lab...wet dog nose in the nether regions paired with (my version of) cold chilled me...although tromping around in heels, my business suit skirt, and pantyhose ain't exactly winter attire. I'm just imagining doing what I did today in 4 degree temps & snow and snorting at the fact I'd be on my butt in 2 seconds flat with that dog on top of me and snow up my skirt. I love living vicariously through other people's journals! :)

Hot flashes on demand was something I wished for more than once! So did hubby. One time we were camping in the Blue Ridge Mtns and it was 36 degrees. He begged me! "just one F&%$ hot flash! That is ALL I ask!!" LOL Alas, we both froze our butts off!

That's a lot of radiation...

Hubby told me it was 52 degrees below zero in North Dakota yesterday. Kind of puts things in perspective doesn't it? Ms. Wahine ... LOL at your chilly day ... it really is all relative!! doit2it ... must get all my shopping in while we still get mom's employee discount at CWC and sure ... you can have her job but you'll have to live in COLD country ... beautiful but COLD this year anyway!! And yes, Info, that is a lot of radiation. The first few weeks are focused on the lymph nodes in his pelvic region. The last bit will be directly on the prostate.
