Folks a lesson in diverticulitis... you never know when you will get a flare up.....so a whole bag of pistachios is not a good idea. My friends for the day are: cramps, bloat and Pain.
225.5 lb Lost so far: 4.5 lb.    Still to go: 40.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

A whole bag of anything I would imagine is a bad idea for anyone. I did learn that it is often ok to have seeds (such as strawberries, blackberries, etc) for those with diverticulitis. Good news for you, I hope.

Hey Casey --- A whole bag of Spinach and Beet Greens every morning will rock your world! This my help your inflammation too Alnona.

Just be aware that both beet greens and spinach have oxalic acid which, if it builds up, can cause kidney stones. Don't overdo greens!

Thnx for all the info. I will hit up some greens this afternoon. A good dose of water should keep the back ups to a minimal. Thnx again folks...you are my lifeline.

My hubby has that and it is no fun. He has been in the hosp twice because of it. He has a severe case. I sympathize with you. Think High Fiber!

Yes beets are on my no no list because of stones. But I cannot give up spinach :) but the doc says WATER will prevent that ... But something like 90 oz per day ... I'd never leave the bathroom .... Hmmmm ... Laptop! Lol.

I hear ya...go easy, maybe no solids for a day ? I have been able to manage mine for years now, with only requiring medication twice in 8 years...flare ups are not fun...good luck!

I've already lost 12 inches of intestines because of it. Thank you all for the input...it helped tremendously.
