Late entry today ... is is almost 6 pm here!! I was busy with laundry and exercise this morning. Then my mom wanted to go visit her friend in town (who had a stroke) and do some Christmas shopping so I provided the transportation and company!! We had lunch at Subway ... yum and she got most of what she wanted to do done. Now there is a chicken roasting in the oven, along with a potato for hubby and sweet potatoes for me and mom! The smell is wafting through the house.

It is cold, cold, cold here. The kind of cold that requires you to wake up in the middle of the night (like when you had babies) to put more wood on the fire!! Our house is heated exclusively with wood, so no fuel, no warmth!! Just a tiny little skiff of snow though ... I don't know if we will have a white Christmas or not at this rate!!

Tomorrow, Sunday, is taking FIL out to lunch for his 81st birthday. And a trip to the dump to get rid of trash. Totally unrelated activities ... really!!! I love my FIL ... his wife? Not so much. She is NOT my MIL ... my MIL died a number of years ago and this one just is a pain.

I ended up snacking way more than I intended last night but for some strange reason the scale decreased. I'll take it!! I'm not really stressing about it right now ... it is what it is and I am simply trying to keep in mind that I want to weigh 185 or less on New Year's Day!!!

So ... my five things I am grateful for today ...

1. the headache I woke up with this morning went away!!!
2. I woke up while there were still hot coals in the woodstove, making it much easier to get the fire going at 3 am!!!
3. my husband ... oh how I love him!!
4. vodka ... so versatile!!
5. lots of blankets heaped on my bed!!

184.4 lb Lost so far: 74.8 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

that was the funniest thing about the frozen baked goods lol- one more good idea to pass on. hope you have good slippers to put wood on the fire at 3 am!!!

lol @ #4! Glad your scale was nice this morning. You may have snacked but you also exercised. Way to keep the balance! Enjoy your lunch and dump-trip today! Happy birthday to your FIL!

Ugh I hate when the fire goes out in the middle of the night like that...we have a pellet stove so it lasts a bit longer but once in a while...brrrr!! :) #4 made me laugh and #3 is a" me too!"
