madaboutmoose's Journal, 19 November 2009

A few more calories than I intended yesterday but I was HUNGRY!!! At least the snacks I chose weren't terribly dense in calories or fat. So snacking? ... yes. ... binging? no.

New brakes for the car today. Not looking forward to the bill but certainly do need brakes!! LOL!!! Darn automobiles ... annoying!! And you all know how it is ... seems like something always needs repairing, replacing, one thing after another. Fortunately I have a light calendar today so no worries ... might even get home early!!

I feel good in my Calvin Klein's today!! LOL!!! I'm not really a person who is into brand names ... mostly because I am frugal but who could resist at $15.00???? Purely psychological I am sure but they are also "skinny" jeans. So ... today I am skinny!! LOL!!

Today I am grateful for ...

1. passion
2. hubby received a "safety award" at work ... brand new propane BBQ and ours was definitely on it's last leg
3. how do I say this? the honor of others sharing their hopes, dreams, vulnerabilities, pain, etc. with me ... letting me "know" them
4. having the ability and willingness to be "known" by someone else
5. new jeans that make me feel skinny!!!!

Have a good day my friends!! Take care of yourselves, be kind to yourself, and remember ... life is PROCESS not PRODUCT ... we will never be "done" ....

Well done on the skinny jeans. Great boost to the morale. Ollie not doing too well. Vet says he has some liver problems and we should have been picking him up at 4 but he's on a drip and we have to go back at 6.15. OH very upset and tearful. Hope we'll be able to bring him home tonight.

I know you must be so proud of yourself, I am proud of you!! Getting into smaller jeans is such a wonderful feeling, I can not wait to have that feeling!! YAY YOU!!

I'm not sure the jeans are really smaller ... size 14 but CK tends to be snugger than other brands ... at least that is what I'm telling myself. Depends on the brand but I can wear some 10's, pretty much all 12's, and a few 14's. For a "girl" who has spent most of her life shopping in the "big girl" section that feels pretty skinny to me!!! I keep reminding myself that the number on the scale is NOT the most important thing but it is difficult. For some damn reason being in the 180's still feels "fat" even though I know I do no "look" "fat" anymore. It's a process ... and eventually I hope my inner image of myself shifts to not thinking of myself as obese. I'm sure many of you can relate!! Body image ... a work in progress!!!

OH MY GOSH! When I read that expression at the end of your journal entry - THE PROCESS - NOT THE PRODUCT - I just about flipped my wig! That - my dear FS Friend - is one of my many mantra's that I used to chant over and over and over again when I walked by myself - before my husband and I started walking together all the time. I used to say, "The process not the product - the process not the product - the process not the product" - about a bajillion times during my 4 mile rapid walk. You made my day Kiddo! That mantra is so true. We are continuously evolving. Thank goodness - huh!

Ugh for the brakes - Lee just had his done a couple days ago. The credit card squealed a little, instead of the brakes. Made me smile thinking of you sashaying around in your skinny jeans.:) Enjoy your new BBQ!

Process not product is a good one for me. Great five. Thank you for putting your thoughts out there for US. And, yeah, it's hard not to focus on the numbers. But let's practice focusing on how we feel instead of how we think the NUMBERS should make us feel. My scale keeps going back up even though I haven't been eating any differently (until yesterday) but I'm just not going to focus on it. I'm sure you look fantastic in your new jeans. Own it!
