madaboutmoose's Journal, 18 November 2009

Two days in a row with the snack attacks at bay. Good deal!! Feeling like I am back in my "range." Now if I could just bring the "range" down 5 lbs or so. Just don't know if that is ever going to be a reality but I suppose it is something to keep in mind and work towards. However, I want to be cautious about becoming frustrated with myself or dissatisfied with where I am. Seems like there is a fragile balance between "complacent" and "frustrated" or "unhappy" with myself.

So anyway ... my five for today ...

1. HUMP DAY!!!
2. A light schedule today at the office.
3. being able to keep my weight in the "range"
4. the thought of skiing soon ...
5. latest PSA test on hubby dropped to 7.8 from 22!!

I need to call the insurance company today and see what the heck is going on with pre-authorization. I'd like to get his treatments scheduled. After all, they need to be done by April so we can go back to Mexico!! Here's to a wonderful Wednesday for each and everyone of you buddies!!

Thanks veggies!!! How are you? I keep checking your journal but nothing new ... I hope you are feeling better!! I think my weight chart looks quite interesting these past 4 months ... kind of like ocean waves building up and then crashing on the blue line!!

It is a very thin line between those two. We have to stop letting fustration beat up complacent. Oh my, your chart is waves on the blue line crashing in, so cool! The good thing is you have maintained so well! Love your five, have a great day

I love your journals - you really seem to know "who you are" and even though you love yourself, you are always looking to improve. Your great!

PSA test result sounds good. Well done for keeping the snacking under control. That fine line between being where you are and maintaining it and wanting that little bit more will get stronger as your confidence in your ability grows. Keep it up!

Just found out that the insurance company denied the Cyberknife radiation treatment in Seattle. An appeal is being submitted by the doctor's office in Seattle. More waiting. I refuse to be bummed about it ... it could still happen. Just anxious to start treatment ...

I'm sorry for the bad news on the cyberknife--I'll keep my fingers crossed on the appeal. Stay positive! The test result is good news and you're still moving forward. Great job on beating the snack monster and staying in your range. I need some of that!

Indeed Erika, indeed!! I tell you what ... I feel like I am white knuckling it with the snack monster. What is it lately? I just want to eat and eat and eat!!! No wonder people put on weight during Winter!! Seems to me you've done pretty fine lately yourself ... you keep it up too!!!

Thanks but I'm definitely white knuckling it too! We'll hang on together!

At least we have each other to hang on to while we white knuckle it!! LOL!!! Sure wish I had been born with a metabolism that burned food like crazy!!

don't know about PSAs but a drop from 22 to 7.8 can only be good! (If we could drop weight like that, we'd be in heaven!)

Kudos on keeping those snack attacks at bay! Also, wonderful news on the PSA #. That's wonderful news! Hugs to you!! :)

So happy about the improved PSA numbers! And there's still hope for the cyberknife thing. I'll keep thinking positive thoughts about that. We all must be snacking to store fat in preparation for our winter hibernation! How can we convince our bodies that we aren't going to hibernate! Let's pretend we are turkeys, wise to the plan that the farmer is trying to fatten us up for Thanksgiving dinner. Don't give him the satisfaction! Be lean and safe for the holiday! Make the farmer eat tofurky!

Amy ... LMAO!!! I'm visualizing myself as that turkey as I type ... my dad always told me I was being a turkey!!! I am sneaking around the pen ... purposefully choosing not to taste those treats the mean old farmer keeps putting out here ... thinking LEAN means LIFE!!!! You brought a huge smile to my face this morning!!!
