madaboutmoose's Journal, 05 October 2009

And so I have struggled lately. I am hoping to regain my focus today and find myself down to at least 180 by Oct. 28th when I leave for vacation. I'm eating just to eat ... not even really enjoying it ... I even raided a bag of white chocolate chips which didn't taste nearly as good as I had hoped. I know it is all stress related. I also know I can get back in "control" and that this is simply a time. However, I do not want to climb any higher. Enough is enough.

So my five things for today are ...

we are getting some wood delivered this week (someone owes us some money and they are paying us in firewood!!!!)
my afternoon appointment cancelled which means I can catch up from my two days missed last week
my husband has decided to "fight" and will do whatever it takes to buy himself some more time here on earth with me!
the sun is shining today even though it is nippy outside
sweater weather!!

I hear you. Hang in there - take care of yourself, rest, do something to remind yourself what you want out of life, whatever that may be.

Hugs to you. I have been doing that a bit lately myself. I remember eating things and thinking, I use to like this? It doesnt even taste good. Weird. I am glad you got firewood. Praying for your husband.

Hooray for hubby's fighting spirit! I truly believe that helps in so many ways. Great news about the fire wood, too. Funny how things have a way of working out. warm (((((hugs)))) to help with the nippy weather - OOH! That sweater feels good! :)

A positive attitude and a fighting spirit can bring so many benefits. It makes the dark moments lighter and makes life so much better. Keep his spirits up and yours too and remember to take some time for yourself. Weather here is nippy too and I've been glad of my sweaters in the past couple of days. Good news on the firewood. You're in my thoughts :)

Ok...take a deep breath and give yourself a little time to refocus. Stress makes things 1,000 times more difficult. Even just trying to maintain will help. Glad hubby is fighting! Sending thoughts and prayers to you both. Hang in there! (((((HUGS)))))

Some wonderful news! Fire wood and hubby AND discovering that some things just are not going to taste good if you are not really hungry. REALLY good things! Being in the place you are makes it hard not to eat. Last spring I was in a similar predicament (sp?) when hubby was having his heart issues and during the winter it was my mom dying so I can relate on one level. Any stressor can do this but it is especially hard when those we love are ill. Sometimes we just need to "get through" it the best way we can. Many hugs to you my friend and hopes for brighter days filled with blessings!

thanks!! I will get through "it" ... and learn in the process ... and LIVE!!! Some days I will be sad, some days I'll be glad, and most days I will experience a mixture of feelings. Having a place to speak my heart is helpful ... having friends across the land who share back is like GOLD!!!!
