skwhite's Journal, 09 October 2014

So many things happen in our lives that affect us day to day. It's crazy how one thing can change your day's perspective. Last week I had my yearly review and did great, except that I got one minus for enabling. Yea well it's something I am working on. On my review I put down for one of my goals that I would like to work towards being a Program Director (the position directly above mine). Today we were told in a meeting that that position is going to be advertised soon. Decision, decisions, decisions. Do I go for it or not? Am I ready? How will I feel if I interview but don't get the job? If I get the job that leaves a whole other set of issues that come up. Oy vey!!! So normally in this situation I like to eat, it's comforting. But this time as I walk through this I am going to try and turn to exercise to deal with the stress.

It would be exciting to get the higher job position, but only you know what the advantages and disadvantages would be. Good luck with whatever you decide!

I think you will make the right decision for yourself and i commend your walking instead of eating. I'm disabled and not able to take walks any more but i can still walk a little bit, i'm going to try that too when i feel the urge to snack for no reason. I'm also diabetic, diet controlled and i really have to keep it that way. I wish you the best of luck with whatever decision you make.
