Cindy Thompson's Journal, 03 June 2011

My doctor told me to not focus on what I'm eating right now and now I hate myself for gaining so much weight. I know that I have to give the medicine a chance to work but I've worked so hard to lose weight this past year and a half it just seems like I'm going backward.
190.2 lb Lost so far: 95.8 lb.    Still to go: 60.2 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
gaining 19.6 lb a week

Definitely talk with your doctor again. I'm sure your doctor truly doesn't want you to gain all the weight back any more than you do! But if your previous WOE is out of the question for now, so be it. Your mental health is much more important than any number on the scale. Many hugs......

I am confused, why can't you eat low carb and take your meds together? Hugs!!

Cindy - maybe some compromise to just eat healthy (not lose or gain) until you can get the rest of you in balance. Whatever the answer - I am sure you'll get it right!

Hey Cindy - perhaps a brief conversation w/ him/her is in order. I am sure the dr. doesn't want you getting too stressed out over any one particular thing... but you were eating very healthy in your efforts to lose, so unless their is something about the med's that would be affected by eating high protein for example, I think you should eat comfortably like you were before. Does it bother you or stress you to eat low carb? If no, then go back to it. If yes, then modify increasing them slowly... and still eliminate the worst offenders. It should slow down the weight gains. Praying for you, much love!

I am sorry to hear you are having such a hard time, but I think you need to listen to your doctor and then later when things settle down you'll get back on losing weight - you did it before, you will do it again! Hang in there!

I'm sure your doctor will understand. Fortunately, it isn't much weight. Still, we all understand how frustrating it is.

Thank you for all of your kinds words of encouragement. Until my meds are under control I am not to be on any diet at all. I really don't like the word 'diet'. I'm trying to not get too discouraged by the weight that has piled on. Hope that all of you are safe. Love and Hugs to All.
