Katsolo's Journal, 07 August 2022

went down to the water last night for dinner and the people watching was so good. like enough to brave the beach crowds to park, but not $25 valet like it is in La Jolla (worth it sometimes). I volunteered to drive so no drinking for me. that keeps the calories in check and me out of jail. I'm such a lightweight these days it's ridiculous anyways.

things I learned: boat parties are it again. wow, loads of people for sunset cruises. more than normal. which is funny because the marine layer will give it a 50/50 any day this time of year unless you go a couple miles out. I am not rich enough for yacht partying. the women with heels, um, unless you're staying in the bay or on a mega yacht, I would fall on my ass. waves go up, waves go down, I go boom. I counted backwards and I haven't been on a boat party since 2013, didn't realize that was missing from my life. not sure I need to add it back in. there's always Hornblower cruises if I feel the need. we'll wait until the end of tourist season for that. those are fun, but they stay in the bay. need to find someone to do the whale watching with me again as BF's doc said no for him because of the vertigo incident being so severe. all those plans aside as I have to focus on Hogan's surgery before I can do any truly frivolous stuff. back to things I learned. see through clothing is a real thing. not bathing suit coverups. um, if this is fast fashion, can we swipe left, please? also, if you do wear a see through dress do not pull at your underwear in front of people, it's not class... never mind. drove past fiesta island on the way home, lots of lights and sirens. guessing DUI time. why I only go there in the early hours of the day. will check with vet and see if I can take them there again.

didn't row yesterday after all. went outside and realized that if I didn't swim, I was an idiot for missing the opportunity. knocked it out, but BF arrived back from work before I could do bubbles and I was chided for not being ready. did the 70 mph open windows method to "style" my hair. total ringlets. it's been forever for that and will be interesting when I dare to take a brush to it.

swim was way different than the day before. more work. 10.7 METs, 851 strokes, but harder earned. average heart rate of 153 and 19 minutes in peak. face was red when I got out and it took forever to quit sweating once I was dressed. it was also hot in the house. charming combo when you're trying to shimmy into a sheath dress. did it though.

numbers are surprising this morning. mostly that muscle is so much lower because I worked in the pool. the problem knee is bugging me this morning, need to find my knee pillow again and be careful with it. it's been quiet lately and I don't want issues. too much else going on in life for that. blob up, everything else way down. I think I just answered my own question in my head. I had a hard swim and by the time we got dinner, I'd sucked down three diet sodas and never had to pee. dehydration big time. which is still there even though I drank another 30 oz of water last night when I got home. yes, you do sweat in the pool.

Happy Sunday, enjoy the day! weekend rules continue.

Busy, busy, busy! High heels on a boat too funny! They do make cute deck sandles, I used to wear them. Wish I were there, I'd go whale watching with you in a heartbeat. I had a severe case of vertigo years ago, not fun; but never had a recurrence. Hope bf has same luck.

he can fly commercial, he cannot backseat fighter jets anymore, he can do an ocean cruise, but not open ocean in smaller boats. I hope he's as lucky as you as well. it was pretty scary. all those restrictions and yet he drives with me!

Beautiful area. I haven't been to La Jolla since 1977!
