Katsolo's Journal, 03 August 2022

Managed to sneak in a swim last night before puppy class. wasn't pretty, but got it done and managed to jump in the shower and wash my hair in three minutes (set a timer) which I haven't had to do in ages. these feats of magic are much more easily accomplished when it's warm vs. cold, so intend to maximize the warmth of august.

869 strokes, average heart rate 146, 10.3METs. not bad. 15 in warm up, 15 in peak and the graph reflects it. also why I got to hit the leftover spaghetti last night. ravenous by the time we got home after class. I do love swimming though.

blob up, muscle up, I feel good today. we'll see if we can carry that through the entire workday. I think I need an august goal, it's going to be 15 swims, July was down because I played in the pool with my niece, but that wasn't a real swim. I have to keep in mind that I did offset some of the missed walks with rowing, but I need to use the pool to lose the stress since that is my zen place more so that rowing which is a competition. both good, but different. I play with weights, but nothing structured, a quick class here and there. it's not my thing. now, give me some big old bags of dirt to move and I'm in. no explanation on how this brain works.

onwards!

isn't it funny what turning the brain off can do for your body? I think that the fact that I have to focus on three things all at once is what clears my head of all the other noise. breathing is the most important thing. all the rest just follows.
