Lovely color!

Wild somewhere! I think southeast asia is where this grows naturally, but it isn't a hybrid! Just a beautiful rose that grows so easily and smells amazing. It needs no special care, which is so unlike my other silly bushes that require so much pampering. Thank you, Tom! I love the little bees too. The whole bush is buzzing!

Beautiful! Looks like a Rugosa Rose. They're very hardy and beautiful. 😍

Erq, I am fine with either. I only know this information because living in New Mexico, being hardy is a necessity. 😁

Here's some info on Rugosa Rose. It was introduced from Asia in 1770 and is now freely 'wild' growing along the beaches of New England where it is known as 'beach rose'. https://gobotany.nativeplanttrust.org/species/rosa/rugosa/

Thanks, guys! And yes, Becky and Erika, as I recall that was the name when I bought it. The provincial flower of Alberta is the wild rose. It is a paler pink for sure, but it is the one I am most familiar with as a "wild rose." I only wish this bush would bloom longer! It gives a few rounds, but then just looks like a bush the rest of summer. 😭

Thank you wifey and Lonnie! Maine coon, you are so kind! That picture is from last summer. It was such a happy day that I keep it up as a reminder of good times. We were at thr North Sea in The Netherlands. We had walked to see beautiful windmills, explored the stunningly lovely town of Delft (famous for the Dutch blue pottery) and ended up on this beach not far from The Hague to watch the sunset.

Beautiful roses! I think of you all the time when I’m in my garden- I just planted a 2nd rose bush (I’ll have to check what variety it is). It says low maintenance so that’s good since I am a newbie! I’ll definitely be asking you for some advice 🤓

Thank you, Diana! Groatmeal! Girl, I am so honored. Wow! But, congratulations on your acquisitions! Roses are often a pain, but they are very rewarding. The biggest trouble in our area (I know you are north of the border but close enough) is our soggy climate. Fungus loves it here. Later on in the year we may be fighting powdery mildew, but now it is black spot to fear most. Keep a sharp lookout for yellowing leaves that then get nasty black spots. They usually show up low to the ground and close to the main canes to begin. I spend nearly every week during the spring spraying and stripping out bad leaves, so that they are healthy in the summer. Good luck and have fun! I hope you have beau9flowers soon and show us all!!!! ❤️

Good to know Melissa! I’m going to have some time later today to finally get out to the garden and I’ll check my two roses for that! Hopefully the rain holds off

Thank you onthego2 and sugarplum! I love the honey bees, but for pure cuteness, a bumble bee is hard to beat!
