tr3vi28's Journal, 03 January 2022

It's official I've gained 20 lbs back of the 100 lbs lost 11 months ago, during supposed maintenance stage. it's awful and I'm disappointed but happy It wasn't more. I been through alot these past few 8 months so I won't be too hard on myself. On the bright side recently had my physical and blood work came back great even with the gain my A1c only went up 1 point from 5.8 to 5.9 which is still pre-diabetic but better than when I started my journey 7.5, cholesterol is stable but still high at this point it's basically hereditary it won't go lower unless I get on statins but was told I can wait because my good Cholesterol is very good and helps balance things out.The only bad was my vitamins levels did decrease along with my iron levels was told I need to try my best not to gain one more pound as it affects me more than the average person.
As for my foot problem finally not in extreme pain and got clearance to be active again with some limitations and return to work with some limitations as well but I'm so happy. So far I've had two interviews lets see how that goes.
I've been under alot of stress between taking care of my health while being inactive, being unemployed brought financial difficulties, recent passing of family members and caring for my family.
Taking care of a child with intellectual disabilities is hard but taking care of an adult with these challenges is even harder and very stressful Lord give me strength.
167.6 lb Lost so far: 80.4 lb.    Still to go: 19.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 0.8 lb a week

It honestly breaks my heart to see you so critical of yourself though. Your one of the kindest people here. But yeah. I feel you. I switched some things too. Christmas was fun. Game over for a while.

Congrats on limiting your gain to only 20 pounds. Maintenance is just as challenging as losing weight and takes just as much effort. Diabetes is tough to master. I used to maintain my A1c much better than my last lab results indicated. I'm back in the gym trying to turn things around. The loss that you have already experienced tells me that you have the tools for successful maintenance...

I so feel your pain. I was in such a dark place for years. I feel more balanced now & am trying to look forward to when I am physically & mentally stronger to do more in life. Don't forget to take care of you 1st so you can take care of the others that need you. I wish you the best for 2022 :)

I guess the good news is that you're stuck with us for that much longer now. how's that for motivation??? kidding aside, you got this. focus on the positive, days are getting longer and brighter again, you've been given the green light to go ahead on a limited basis, so let's just wade all the way into it and start over.

Certainly continue the weight control issue, but regarding your vitamin levels and iron levels, take a look of the foods that you are eating. Sorry, I can’t remember specifically what your nutritional focus is but that is where I would look first. Was the doc concerned enough about your iron to put you on a supplement? I’m so glad you are able to go back to work. I once had to be off for six months—- I was never more happy in my life when I got to go back. Keep me posted on how you are doing. I care about what happens to you.

Kenna, yes I was keeping track for awhile then gave up and it certainly showed. It's just so hard for me because I literally have to keep an eye on not overdoing salt, calcium, sugar, or oxalate foods hard balancing to maintain 😔 I been on supplements for 3 years now almost died in 2017 two years after giving birth to my second child I was left with 0 iron was rushed to the emergency room to get iron infusion and developed cardiac arrest from so much they put all at once then they put me on very high doses of ferrous iron almost killed me too next was blood transfusion got so scared I did some research and started making home remedies and taking very low dose of iron gluconate It's been working since but I started eating badly again and not tracking and that upset my stomach which causes more malabsorption becoming I was born with a stomach diseases therefore I have to take vitamins plus eat well I don't absorb b vitamins, iron, magnesium or vitamin D causes so many issues 😢 thank you for caring I'm happy to return to work but not really on these conditions being that I work in Healthcare
