FullaBella's Journal, 16 April 2014

Wednesday Morning - April 16th. This weekend was warm enough for shorts but I’ve been back in turtlenecks since Monday. That’s okay though.

If I were savvy enough to make one of those ‘meme’ things yesterday mine would have read, “I didn’t go ride my bicycle just because I had an asiago cheese bagel for an afternoon snack but then again I’m glad I did”, LOL.

The oldest grandson stopped in the shop at closing and asked if I wanted to go riding (he has a bike too). That was pretty cool because I’ve been in such a foggy funk for two days I was just planning on staying open another hour because I didn’t have anything else to do. The sun was shining, the temp was comfortable enough Mushy didn’t get overheated and I was especially proud of myself for conquering ‘that overpass’. And yes, Mush still has 19 toenails; no basket dismount tragedies this time.

ATF is doing okay. I still haven’t stepped on the scale but my other measurers (snug jeans, bracelet, rings, how I feel) are all the same; my second snug jeans felt a little looser in the thighs yesterday so I have to conclude more F2M conversion going on. I slept well last night and am proud of that because I am trying to decrease and eventually eliminate taking Xanax. I’ve taken it a long time so I’ll do it slow.

Deciding to ‘date myself’ has been very revealing during this ‘getting to know myself’ phase. Finding myself stumped answering the ‘date question’ of ‘share 20 things about yourself’ certainly illuminated Cutty’s remark before passing, “I feel after all these years I really don’t know anything about you.” I’m not so sure this is due to a lack of self attention as it is just age and evolving leads to a different frame of mind. And I had to laugh that once I answered those questions and updated my ‘practice profile’ on ‘match’ I stopped getting winked, LOL. I think I scared the computer. Haha. But that’s okay. I recognized I’m just not ready for any heavy emotional lifting right now - I don’t want to have to take care of anyone else’s heart; I’m still caring for mine.

I noticed this is the second year in a row that right about Springtime I find myself considering going ‘low carb’ for a change of WOE. Ironic as this is the edge of all the great fresh veggies and fruits to soon be hitting the Farmers Market. I’m thinking there is some reaction of ‘coming out of winter hibernation leads to wanting to leave those pasta / noodle / biscuit warming comfort foods behind.’ So I work all this out in my mind and assure my body it’ll be able to have it’s spinach and eat it too; we’re just going to back off the tortellini for a while.

And as they say in Looney tunes… that’s all folks. Hope you’re having a great day where ever you are. Thank you for stopping to visit me and know that I read and cherish every single comment, support, advice and suggestion you leave for me on my journals. I am truly blessed and feel the love. You’re wonderful friends.

Bella

Doesn't this look wonderful? I'm trying to get a bid from the carpenter on putting one in my church.

Hi Bella! I've been thinking about you and looks like you and I are here at the same time today. I ordered a new bike basket and bell for my Trek Allant. It is not really a practical basket because it is open but just in case my kitty wants to take a ride this will work and it looks too cool on my "city bike". It is awesome that your grandson invited you to go riding too. I have not eaten pasta, bread, rice on a regular basis now for over a year. I did have a burger and fries last week with a friend for the first time in forever and I think it put 10 lbs. on me. Ha - I would like to blame the one time lunch but the truth is I'm stuffing myself with sugar and fighting tooth and nail trying to stop. Love your stress free zone!!! With my back I'm wondering if I could switch up the hammock style swing for a straight back? LOL.. Glad you are well and glad you keep journaling for me (I can pretend it is just for me!)

Oh Wow! I need one of those zones!!! If I had one, I may never want to come inside again.

That picture is so beautiful and zen. I’m visualizing complete serenity and meditating there. It’s really lovely. I’m a low carbohydrate/moderate protein eater (I don’t obsess about the grams of protein, not yet anyway. I just have some at every meal). I don’t see any significant weight loss but I feel better. The wrong carbohydrates can make you drag. I still work my carbs in with quinoa, sweet potatoes and occasionally whole grain breads, white potatoes and brown rice. I just ordered some buckwheat noodles and I’m pretty excited about trying some recipes featuring them. In regards to the dating it’s been years for me. I’ve never been bold enough to post and actually interact with anyone on those sites but I might give it a go. Thanks for journaling and have a wonderful day.

Still love reading your journals, Bella... :) And yes, that stress-free hammock zone looks absolutely incredible..

I reckon that hammock needs to be a little further away from the water. Can just see me waking suddenly from a nap and inadvertently tipping myself over the edge :-)

I LOVE that place. WHERE is it? I want to go now! Anyway, great journal, @Bella, as always. It's funny how well we think we know ourselves... and yet we don't. It's even funnier how many of those around us really have no comprehension of who we really are. Most of the people I talk to on a daily basis really have no idea. Anyway, I'm glad you're becoming more self-aware. And I wholly agree about the carb / springtime thing. I know I crave carbs more in the winter. I'm sure it's an archaic survival thing kicking in... but it's good news as a harbinger of summer! :D

Yep! Although I baked bread, made honey pistachio granola, and a big Easter cookie for visitors, what I really want is rare root stew, or beet, pear, & goat cheese salad. We got our Organics to You delivery, with fun things like kale raab, sunchokes, fennel, leeks, shiitake mushrooms, etc. I made Beans Bourguignonne with the mushrooms, carrot, sliced fresh garlic, red beans, wine, etc. I made kale raab chowder with fresh corn cut off the cob. I could become vegetarian this time of year. No more chicken casserole...
