Even though I haven't lost any weight since I last posted, I thought I would weigh in this morning. I've been eating poorly for a while now and my weight has been all over the place. But for the last couple of weeks I have been doing much better, and now I am back down to where I last posted, so I felt like this was a good place to begin. I went all the way back to when I first began this journey about 2 1/2 years ago to look at what I was doing then, because what I was doing worked. I found three things I feel are important: I was weighing in every day, I was weighing and recording every bite I put in my mouth, and I was interacting with other FS members every day. And the result was, I was losing weight consistently. So that's what I'm going to start doing again, except there's just one little hitch. I'm leaving early tomorrow morning for Louisiana to celebrate my younger son's 54th birthday. So, I'll be back in town sometime Monday, will weigh in Tuesday morning and start from there. 220.9 lb Lost so far: 79.1 lb.    Still to go: 20.9 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Awesome to hear you’re getting back to your ways! Try and stick to everything except hopping on the scale daily!(it kills motivation and is usually just water weight fluctuating) take some breaks in between weigh ins and I promise you’ll feel better once you hop on! Enjoy your weekend!

I'm new to this support stuff. I've always been alone in losing weight. I'll give this a try. I don't really have any friends near me to talk to. I'm so ashamed of how I look, I'm desperate for a change.

RavenTor, welcome to FS, this is a safe place where you will find many people willing to support you. But we can only support you if you go public. And you have nothing to be ashamed of here, we have all been there, making bad choices, hiding from cameras, eating things we know we shouldn't. The only thing that's important now is today. And today you made the right choice, the choice to live a healthier life and to be the best "you" you can possibly be. So, be proud of the person you are, love yourself, be good to yourself and know that you are not alone on this journey, we are all here with you, every step of the way. 🌈🌈🌈

Thank you all for your kind words and your support. I am so looking forward seeing my son. And I'm also looking forward to some Louisiana Cajun barbecue, something so different from Texas barbecue that they aren't even kissing cousins. I'll try to eat sensibly, but I won't be weighing and measuring, and I won't be surprised by whatever number I see on the scale Tuesday.

I agree with your post...the thing that has helped me the most so far was logging every bite here and actually acknowledging and realizing what or how much (or even how little) I am eating. It keeps me motivated to be consistent while I am trying to restructure my eating habits and nutrition. Have fun on your trip! :))
