cocobutt's Journal, 24 February 2011

Yesterday was a rough workday for both of us. Demanding clients and tight deadlines. I thought about cooking dinner but got lazy, so we went out to eat tapas at the Greek resto down the road. The stuffed grape leaves and scallops were wonderful. The saganaki (flambéed cheese) was delish, but a bit too rich and salty. I worked a little after we came home but was so tired I fell asleep by 11pm, which I rarely do.

This morning I tried out my new GoLite Blue light therapy lamp for 15 minutes. I read the directions and it says to keep it 30 inches off to the side about waist high so that it shines on the side of your face. The receptors in your eyes that need the light are on the periphery. Supposedly this will energize you when you have the winter blahs. I'll do another 15 minutes at lunch. Gives me an excuse to just sit and read, so I can finish my Stieg Larsson book and start on my HTML book next.

I need to plan lunch and dinner today so I'm not foraging like I did yesterday. I ate too many of those Planters nut snacks with granola and more chocolate than I should have.

Hi Coco seems like a lot of F.S. people are trying new things today and your GoLite Blue light therapy sounds like a very cool en-lighten up Break in your day! My words of the day for you is "Blue Light Special" and I understand if you don't want to talk to me after that but those are the first words that came to my mind lol. TOWANDA!!!!!

Hi Coco... I really enjoy all types of seafood... but the cheese thing... I guess I would pass. I especially like the scallops though! You shouldn't need that winter blue light too much longer... days are getting longer by leaps and bounds now. I find myself outside past 6:30 most days now... lot's better than 5 pm. Have a great day!

Matt, what is not to love about cheese? I wanted to give up dairy, but yogurt and cheese are just too wonderful. If you've got daylight up to 6:30, you must be on the western edge of a time zone. It's about dark by 6 here right now. And we're already having daffodils pop up, so Mr Groundhog may be right!

Coco... We have the daffodils here too... only 3 inches now... but they are showing some. I do like cheese... just want to control how much I get though :)
