Sorry for not checking in sooner, but too much pain.

Procedure supposedly went well, but other than sleeping for longer periods (1-2 hours versus 20-40 minutes)I'm NOT seeing any great improvement. If anything I'm actually feeling weaker if that makes any sense.

In addition to the pills I was already taking, I'm now taking 2 blood thinners & aspirin, so that's 21 pills/capsules over the course of a day. Good Grief! Sadly the supplements are now out numbered by the prescriptions.

They did put in 1 splint, no surprise there. You knew they were going to find a reason, if only to justify having the 2nd surgeon assisting. Follow up is on the 6th! Meanwhile Dr.'s office did not return my call yesterday about the pain. My call on Friday was returned at the end of the day with them telling me to take ibuprofen, which they had explicitly told my bil I could NOT take when he picked up my new medications.

I'm done! Sorry for droning on and on. Just keeping on keeping on. AME to distract me for the next couple of days. Happy Tuesday y'all.

Sorry you've been in pain. That's pretty awful when they don't call you back and tell you to take something you shouldn't. Can you take tylenol? Hope that you're getting some relief.

I cant remember what type of surgery you had to have, but there is a reason that on many surgeries two surgeons are required. Why, you ask? It is not so they can charge for it. It is because if your surgeon became incapacitated during the procedure that you wouldn’t die on the table. I hope no one is laughing. I once got a STAT call to the OR. One of the docs doing a case had called for me. When I got there he he was gray and soaking wet with sweat. He told me he thought he was having a heart attack and to get another doc. He was operating alone. I called for the other doc, set up the code team and scrubbed in to start an IV on him while he was still working. He literally took a last stitch- the other doc took over, he went down and the code team started resuscitation procedure. And that is why there are generally two surgeons on most cases.
