Debbie Cousins's Journal, 09 February 2021

Down a half a pound this morning. One more half to get back to where I WAS 7 days ago. Wasted a whole week of my life when I could have been losing. Oh well, lesson learned. If anybody hears me say I'm going to go OFF of Keto anytime soon, send me a swift kick in the butt and talk some sense into me. Hopefully, I'll remember on my own, though, and stick with this. Back into "optimal ketosis" this morning, PTL. I gave my husband the last three Jackstraws last night (after me having had one yesterday morning). Glad those are out of the house! One good thing about being back in ketosis is that I don't struggle with wanting to snack all through the day as much.

My daughter is sick AGAIN, so I'm picking up my grandson this morning and keeping him until late afternoon. That will give her seven hours that she can just sleep if she wants to, or she can make a little progress on cleaning her house if she feels like it. Yesterday, I went to the grocery store for her. Seems like every time she goes to the doctor's office just to get Rx refill scrips, she gets SICK. I mean EVERY time!

I can relate! I feel I have 'wasted' a week or 2 lately BUT I am happy where I am now so maybe that past was meant to be something I went through to get to my Today :-)

I think many ketoers would envious at how well you do on the diet. it works well for you. I think probably somehow linked to how much you love sugar. LOL. I am glad that you are out of straws so you can use your carbs for better choices. I can certainly kick your butt. However, I think that at some time maybe after your bet is over you should transition out of keto. I can do keto for long. I have been low carbing for several years now. But I believe in the "virtues" of this diet. You however are more comfortable when you feel you have more choice. But if you want to keep your weight off you have to learn to balance your love for sweet things with the amount of calories you need and that can take time... maybe years. Cheering you ON. Go Debs!!! Have fun with your grandson.

I've been staying the same. Too many carbs as I love my fruit, but this is not getting me the win.Good luck Debbie you know what you're doing. Less carbs is the answer

I can get away with a bit of honest to god whole grain like pin oats or a bit of fruit & if I go no carb I crave them so much I eat everything I can reach! Quite a tricky balance. I'm not looking forward to this strict limitation but it's what got me through before & I'm getting my butt kicked now.

@sarafinia, I'm allowing 20-25 Net Carbs a day, and I stay in Ketosis. One day, I did 29 and still stayed in ketosis, but I don't want to push it and knock myself out.

Yep me too. My problem is indulging in a few beer. I do like crown so I should make the switch but beer is so yummy.
